At work, every year we run a nap competition for the 7 weeks before Christmas, and ending on Boxing day. Everybody has a virtual £10 bet - either win or £5e/w. Over the weeks they pick one selection only from any Saturday uk or Irish racing. Accumulative winning are added together and on Boxing day the stakes are doubled. All prices are SP. If there is a NR, then it will go onto the favourite. Having spoken to Ron, he is happy for me to run this little competition. Would there be enough interest? If there is, then I will start it on the 11th November and end it on Boxing day - 8 weeks/selections in total. Please leave names if you are interested. Cheers Kev
A bit of feedback: I prefer this type of comp where you can pick your horses from any race. The one thing that puts me off about the Saturday TV competition is that you have to try and pick the winners of a predefined set of races, which I prefer less. I guess the comp that Cyc used to run every Saturday had the same appeal - you were free to pick 5 horses from any races.
Well it doesn't seem very popular in its current format Oddy. I thought that it would interest those who like to watch their selections on TV. Obviously I was wrong, apart from a few regulars. I'll try with entries from any race in UK and Ireland next week to see if it makes any difference. if not I'll kill it off.
go on then how about incorporating it with Ron's comp though? Have entries on the same page, that sort of thing to make things easier ?
