Say we lose maynard at the end of the season, who should we replace him with?

Craig Davies of barnsley seems to be a good striker, banging them in latley

Jordan Rhodes of huddersfield a young talent whos attracting the eyes of many

or do we try a prem youngster on loan, or even someone from scotland

many will say pitman but i think we still need another striker as i feel were going to lose stead and clarkson come next season

with Nicky we have Pitman to come straight in who i believe given a run of games will be just as productive in front of goal. My massive concern is Albert?? who can replace him? Cristiano Ronaldo???

Thats my worry though shiny wigan everton blackburn west brom swasnea would all love and be able to afford 5 mill can sextone afford to turn it down? Only blessing maybe Albert goes to African cup of nations and everyone forgets about him till feb where he returns to rip up championship defenders!

another worry there though thephatone who's to say he when he goes to the african cup of nations he dosent impress more than just those prem teams, wouldnt surprise me if the top teams around the world have a few scouts out there watching, and with the skill albert has he could be off to any country

    £5 million ?
Oh no. Albert is going to be worth much more than that.

If he lights up the African Nations it could start a bidding war between the Milans, Reals and Uniteds etc. Otherwise I cant see us letting him go.
In fact I think our club would resist for both him and Maynard if it were just money. Sadly its also about contracts, and I have a feeling there is going to be a flood of offers for Nicky when the season ends, with us powerless to affect the situation.
Of course, if we make the pray-offs this season it could just persuade him to stay. Otherwise step up Mr Pitman.

    Some good points here.

I fear that Maynard already has set his sights on the premiership and no-one can fault him for this. What we can fault is an aparent lack of respect for our club is he goes for nothing. We paid his wages in good faith last season which was an injury washout for him. Have the good grace to respect the club Nicky and at least ensure that we get a decent fee. Too many players (and their greedy parasite agents) forget that without the "lower leagues", they would be nowhere. The whole Bosman rule pisses me off.

Pitman is a ready made replacement and I also think that Stead still has much to offer.

As for Albert, we can certainly thank Coppell for him. The African Cup of Nations is a mixed blessing but the fact is that we will be without his services for a few weeks which will be painful. If he attracts a bigger club, so be it. At least we have him under contract for a few more years - well done the Board for that one.

If we continue to play like this our biggest fear would be premiership clubs looking at Del
I listened to Maynards interview yesterday and got the feeling he might be seriously thinking about staying, he believes in what could be happening here so fingers crossed on that one.
Albert has signed a new contract so big money could come into that one, plus we do have Yanick who could be another gem.

Not so convinced about Yannick yet but to be fair we havent seen that much of him. Just pray that Albert and Nicky stay fit, Nicky signs and Albert repays the chance he has been given by city with loyalty. That really would be a happy new year!!
