1857 FOOTBALL: - BBC Scotland's Chris McLaughlin Tweets: "Celtic, Rangers and Newcastle have all enquired about Dundee Utd midfielder Scott Allan recently. One year left on his contract."

    Thoughts? Personally I say no.

So what if he's a midfielder, he aint exactly going to break into the first team straight away is he...
19 yo, have you people stopped wanting young potential on the books?

He will fit right in given our history for this sort of thing.

Allan was charged with assault on 4 November 2010 after an incident on Queen Street in Glasgow which left two men needing hospital treatment.[10] The incident also involved a number of Allan's Dundee United teammates - Danny Swanson (who was knocked unconscious), Barry Douglas, David Goodwillie & former Dundee United players Matthew Flynn, John Friel & a passer-by.

Might be worth a go but not much good comes out of Scotland, let alone Dundee.

Those things you probably use quite often, the television and the telephone.

Expected this sort of nonsense from a Cockney....

    Not to mention

If he's not costing much I can't see the harm but aged 19 and can't break into the Dundee Utd side and only has 2 caps for the U21s... could turn good but usually stars should start shining early in such a weak league... <erm>

Charlie Adam couldn't get into the Rangers side, moved to Blackpool and is now at Liverpool. Some good can come out of Scotland but it's rare, so I say no.

The gulf in class between Rangers and Dundee Utd is massive though.

That said, some players are late bloomers. <ok>
