We've doubled our home win tally! Buszaky seems to be regaining form over the last two games even if he lacks a bit of match fitness. Couple of cracking strikes last night Negatives Lack of youth in team Were missing traore and taraabt badly Our home support is shocking we've got to get behind the team sing up boys and girls.
More positives first clean sheet since 2002 no fresh injury worries Chelsea are scared (made that one up) hopeful of continuing our unbeaten run Negatives can't think of any specific one, there are just far too many
Thought MH's body language was interesting in the first half - he was leaning with a shoulder against the dug out with his hands in his pocket in a languid pose. I guess he was thinking "I'm stuck with this lot for now. I've done what I can to point them in the right direction, for now I'm a spectator."
It was woeful really, and Hughes must be thinking I’m going to need more money, we won a cup game, we won a home game, it was Sparky's first win, we scored a goal, we kept a clean sheet. on the other hand We had 46% possession against a Div1 team who lets be honest looked better than us for most of the game. Technically hey looked superior with better skill levels, better movement and more ideas IMO... I have also become more and more concerned with some players who i have previously always thought were OK SWP - MOTM, as someone has already posted - what a joke. He seems to have forgotten how to play and lost his football brain, his runs with and without the ball could have been so much better if he'd made better decisions and picked better areas and his passing was ****e. JB - has now proven i think that basically he's not a very good striker, how did he get an England cap? His shooting is at best average and his movement is poor. He holds the ball up OK on ocassion and wins a few header but that’s about it. Macheda - for me has proven that he can run, and run quite fast when he wants to, otherwise not a lot else going on. Mackie - it pains me to say it, but he's not looking good enough (maybe Sparky can improve him), he runs all day but so would Paula Radcliffe he needs to basically become a more skilful player by the weekend - I can't see this happening. Smith - i didn't think he was good enough last year, nothing i've seen this year tells me any different, championship level player at best. Buz - considering he's been sat on his arse for ages i think he has done OK in the last two games but again if i'm being honest he is not Premiership quality. Derry - a rock in the middle but unfortunately this also describes his speed, he is going to pick up loads of cards as he continues to arrive about week late for tackles in the premiership. Hill - i have to say completely out of his depth now, and cannot pass. Even last night i thought he struggled to contain Div 1 players. Gabbidon, Ferdinand and Young are OK if not the quickest bunch of lads, but have got to improve their communication; i think it was the macdonald chance for MK last night that was just embarrassing for a premier league defence. Kenny - i think continues to be OK, don't really see the GK position as a priority when we have so many other areas that need improvement even if he does come out flapping like a chicken at crosses the rest of his game is good enough. Overall - i'm ****ting it - Sparky has got his work cut out, and i just think its going to be sooooo hard to get the right players in the next couple of weeks.
Yes, Good assessment, Cannock. I thought MK Dons passed the ball around well at times. They're a good team for that division. Their big number 19 particularly impressed me. Fast and tenacious. As for Hughes, now that Faurlin is out, it seems to me he has the following as the backbone of the team: Kenny, Young, Ferdinand, Barton, Helguson And Taraabt and Traore when they come back And SWP and Campbell if their game improves under new management. All the rest should go imo (in the summer anyway), with possible exception of Buzz who does seem to be getting back to former form. 4 or 5 excellent players added to the above backbone could be formidable
Let the "grandfathers" keep this club in the prem and purchase younger players for next season. There will be plenty younger ones coming. Not meaning Alex tho....
This is my problem, their number 19 is Jabo Ibehre, a lower league journeyman (Leyton orient, Southend, Walsall), who's scored 60 odd goals in nearly 200 appearances. Yet last night we make him look like a world beater, our defending is simply not good enough, some serious work needs to be done.
Yet Ibehre caused Ferdinand a lot more problems than have Premiershship equivalents. Not saying there isn't serious work to be done on our defence, but I think MK Dons played out of their skins last night, Ibehre in particular.
He is Mr. Glum. That's what I'm afraid of. And he also has no tact in his interviews. Honesty is the best policy as the saying goes, but he's a bit forthcoming with his true feelings on TV and it all sounds rather flaccid, the way he says it so un-surely.
Yappy- Serious question. What is your beef with Mark Hughes ?? I just get the feeling you dont like him very much .If he does the business for us will that change your opinion ?
At this stage, I'd rather he was Mr Glum than Mr Happy. And based on the performance, he must know he's going to have to cull a lot of the team. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown...
Yes...... but who are we getting? Still seems rather cloudy, the outlook. No real firm word on any of our prospects? Henrique got his visa? Alex? Who else?
more positive......played on Sunday in Newcastle and Tuesday night.........and we didn't complain about fixture congestion. Let's judge MH at tend of the season. There are going to be plenty of departures - have to say I didn't realise that Buzz was 29 so maybe he wil leave at he end of this season. JDC needs to get a game - was going to say raise his game but he has to start proving now he is worth the £1.2 mill. In hindsight, would rather have out that down as a deposit on Jordan Rhodes!! yesterday proved how much we need a decent central defender - I would keep Young and Ferdinand...but we are seriously lacing at left back and other centre back position. I am looking forward to seeing NW get his next job as I can see Derry and Hill def leaving to join him.
Positives...We started to play a bit in the last twenty minutes. Gabbidon's goal. Clean sheet. And The burger van man in Loftus Rd gave my wife and kids free burgers after the game.
agree with all of that. bothroyd was a disgrace and barely tried, and helguson/macheda showed him how he should be playing. SWP has been a massive let down for me and doesnt really deserve to start, although, we dont seem to have anyone else!
