Obviously getting to the FA Cup Final was massive positive. Hopefully finishing in the top half of the table will be a positive. It could potentially be the best season of our long history, so, what could be a negative? Playing in Europe (maybe) next season: positive or negative? Well, as you may or may not know, I live in Los Angeles. For the first time since I moved here 8 years ago someone recognised my Stoke shirt (it is a 1972 replica too). How is this a negative? Surely this means we can now potentially attract better players to our club as a result of our wider exposure? But there is a reason why people have noticed us. The manager and the players. I can see a Bayern bid for Huth, a Liverpool/Man Utd(dare I say it)Arsenal bid for Shawcross, Ethers and Pennant will surely attract bids too. Maybe Begovic and maybe even TP gets headhunted. Fingers crossed none of this will happen, and if it did, hopefully the plan of building this club into something rather than dismantling it remains Coates' priority. I mean he isn't Stoke Chairman for the money is he? I just hope the players want to stay and build something too. The only one I'm really worried about losing is Begovic because of the Chelsea connection. Anyway, exciting times!!
Hi Stoke Bloke Its great we are getting global exposure and the final will be screened to a massive audience. Its a great time for the club and for us the fans the games are coming thick and fast.To get to the FA CUP FINAL for me has always been a dream as the heartache of those Semis in the 70's has now been put to bed. Good point about the bigger clubs coming in for our star players but i think we can hold on to players such as Huth who has been player of the season.Credit goes to Tony Pulis who has targeted these players who could'nt quite make the grade at for whatever reason at other clubs he has great motivational qualities and his buys have been nothing short of expectional. i will be back at wembley and if we pull it off will be the greatest acheivement ever by the club.
Has to be all positives for me anyway! NEVER did I dare dream that one day I would see my club at Wembley again. I was there in 72 and it's fantastic for not only the younger fans, but middle aged like myself. Europe? Not sure as it starts mid July I think? Could be a negative but hey, let's give it another try. Can't wait for the Final and IF we did pull it off.. ONE HAPPY middle aged STOKIE would be well and truly made up! Whatever happen's happens ENJOY IT!
I was born in Cheddleton but now live out in Cape Town, South Africa where the English Premier League is very popular. Often people will come up to me and ask where I got my Stoke City shirt from. There is a fantastic TV network here called DSTV which enables me to watch all the EPL and cup games at a reasonable price so I never miss a game. All pro's for me this season and I must say some brilliant work by Pulis in the transfer windows but next season with the possibility of Europe we must add depth to the squad, there will be a lot more games which often leads to more injuries. Glad to see Shotton got a run the other day! Can't wait for the FA Cup final then we'll take the Community Shield for good measure just before the new season
