Well yesterday was a much better performance, and we even managed to keep 11 men on the pitch. we were threatening and creating some decent chances, but yet again failing to put them away. however, results are still not coming, which is worrying. we now have just one game left in that run of winable games, with just one win to our name. that could end up costing us. although it would be typical qpr to go and win a few against the big sides. back to yesterday though. i thought hill was outstanding, and yet again underlined why i, and many others feel he is worty of another year, whatever division we are in. taarabt was also a constant threat, but did unfortunatley give the ball away for the goal. and i also thought buzz ran the midfield. however, the filp side. imo kenny should have done better with the goal - it was miles out. ok it was in the corner, but in the PL i would expect my keeper to be saving that. again, why is he still playing? swp was ok in patches, but also poor in patches. he is one of those very frustrating players - he can do it, but he doesnt do it anywhere near often enough and imo we would be better sticking mackie there, and smith on the other wing. smith is more intelligent as a footballer than he gets credit for, and more than makes up for a lack in pace. barton had mixed reviews from yesterday, but imo he gave the ball away far too much and cost us a few attacking moves. overall i think we should have won the game, but have yet again failed to do so. its worrying as games are running out and look at our run in. i cant help but think we have left ourselves with too much to do.
If we are starting to gel like MH says we are then we should still pick up points from now until the end of the season, regardless of who we play.
Usually I am fairly positive but just need to temper our budding enthusiasm with the fact that the bookies are now condemning Wolves and Wigan and are giving the third place to either us or Bolton. The phrase 'must win' is much over used but Saturday is a true must win for QPR (and of course Bolton).
I'd still be fairly satisfied with a draw at Bolton. I like to think we can win but I thought the same at Blackburn and we turned in one of the worst first half performances (and with a full compliment of players on the pitch!). That was a must win game too. If Bolton are pumped it could be a similar scenario, so a draw will do me just fine.
Agree with just about everyting here Judo. Hill was outstanding and easily MOTM. Despite showing a bit more commitment than of late (at least not pulling out of tackles) Barton's contribution was still below average and yet again I lost count of the number of times he gave the ball away. With Diakite returning next Saturday I genuinely hope MH will review the situation with a radical eye. With MH seemingly having found a way for Buz and Adel to work together the options are increased. For SWP it's hard to dislike the guy as his work rate continues to be outstanding but his play was pretty dire TBH. Cerny deserves another stint IMO. Kenny isn't in control of his area.
I think it's pretty much a Must win for both sides. Seeing that we have the "top 6" still to play we need 3 points there.
Exactly right. We will pick up surprise points later and at least we didn't lose ground on Saturday. We can't afford to give Bolton the points and their desperation may help us. Also, I still think that, if we play like we did against Everton, for the rest of the season then we'll do enough to stay up with a bit to spare.
