Looking forward to the Stoke game now and have a feeling that we will get something out of this game...Hopefully all the criticism of our club in the national media over the past week or so will act as a spur to everyone connected with our great club to greater efforts and performance..
I will be stopping down Stoke for the weekend regardless and expect to have the bragging rights when I'm out for a drink on the Saturday night..

    i hope your right.
We could be in the bottom three before we even play. I'm struggling to get positive about us at the mo and I'm hoping that there are three worse teams than us to prolong our EPL status. Should be used to these nervous times now but sooner or later that trapdoor is gonna open and we are going to fall unless we get a new manager and serious investment in the playing staff.
It would also be nice to get some of the dross paid up and contracts terminated as well. I digress however. Let's hope your spot on and a win gives us the boost we need.

Johnson's bail date is 2 days before the game. That could have a bearing on our players mentality one way or other.

If its good news he has to start.

The matches from the other teams before then are pretty important. If the other clubs have a horrible weekend then you can go to Stoke still a couple of points from the relegation zone and be very positive about getting a draw. If the other matches go against you I think I'm correct in saying you could be in the relegation zone and then the pressure is really on.

I guess a positive from that could be that last season you really pulled it out when the pressure was on. Connors comments a few weeks ago about none of the players thinking you were in a relegation scrap was telling, they needed to know they had to pull their fingers out and now they hopefully do!

Although we are not in the bottom three at the moment, we are already in the relegation zone, as are all of the teams from The Maggots downwards, so there's absolutely no chance of us being 'a couple of points from the relegation zone' by the time that we play Stoke <doh>

I wish that there was a chance, but there just isn't :emoticon-0138-think

Eh? Sorry but I didn;t realise the "relegation zone" incorporated the bottom 6 or 7 places - normally only 3 go down Gordon! The "Relegation zone" as stated in the post before yours means the bottom three

No . . . . a zone is an area (not an exact location), and all teams from The skunks downwards are in the area where they have a chance of ending up in 'the bottom three' - which are the relegation places (not the zone) :emoticon-0105-wink:

I get the point about being in the bottom 3 or not can affect psychology. I really don't want us to drop into that group after the weekend. It would be nice to stay a short length ahead at least. As games get ticked off and we're still not down there, we can relax a little as each week passes (ha ha).

I believe we went on our miracle run this time last season, a few missing jigsaws to the puzzle.. No giach providing whickam, step in watmore! We have Defoe! An upgrade on borini for sure.. The players seem to play better away from home, Your right though RAW all we can do is keep our heads up and hope for the best! All the best mate enjoy it with your son :emoticon-0150-hands
