Just looking at today's Premier League table versus our results and I noticed that if you look at our opponents' current positions and how we did, you get the following:

Position Result

1 L

2 L

3 L

5 L

6 L

7 L

8 L

9 D

10 D

14 W

15 L

18 W

20 W

You might well argue that the only result that stands out is the Wigan one (currently 15th). I know it's possible to argue that current positions are affected by having won against us but the teams involved have now played 12 other teams so it's not just down to us. Anyway, I thought it was worth the effort! Vin
Good post...hopefully a win on Wednesday will help fill another gap in your table, and further prove your point. I'm not going to read too much into the Wigan game, we were unusually ****e. How I would love a replay of that game now!
I have long argued that the fixture list was half your problem.However if you plot Norwich results they look like this: 1 W 4 L 5 D 6 W 7 D 8 D 10 L 11 L 12 W 14 L 18 D 19 D 20 D
True, but you've already had a season in the Prem to get used to the difference in quality. How about if you do the same thing for last season?
Last season we took more points from the lower end.I have always argued Saints will survive.I think Reading are much weaker. If QPR don't beat Sunderland or Villa IMO they are gone 'arry or no 'arry.
