    Full Time: Posh 2 - 2 Wolves

An entertaining pre-season friendly played at London Road, with Peterborough's Kyle Vassell looking the best player on the pitch.

Kyle has lost quite a bit of weight and this has given him an extra yard of pace without any noticeable lack of strength.

Jermaine Anderson looks in good form and this could be a big season for him. It was Anderson and Vassell who combined for Posh's
first goal after a move started by loanee Right Back Adam Drury. He won the ball just outside the Posh box and played it forward to Anderson.
His neat pass found Vassell who then turned his marker before firing across Ikeme into the Wolves goal.

Santos and Brisley looked fairly solid as the back-up Centre Backs, though Santos was at fault for the first Wolves goal, missing his header and
allowing the ball to reach Leon Clarke at the far post, leaving him the simple task of firing into an unguarded net from 6 yards.

McCann was tidy and busy enough, pulling the strings in Midfield whilst Kgosi did a decent enough job at the back, also making a few good
    runs forward.

Adam Drury looked a tidy player but I feel he lacks height and body strength to cope with the hurly-burly of life in League One.

Joe Newell also started the game but did little. He was withdrawn after 30 minutes, I assume because of injury rather than tactically, so I will
reserve judgement for another day, though he surely has to start imposing himself in games rather than wander around aimlessly - surely he is in
'the last chance saloon'. Certainly his replacement, Kane Ferdinand, put in a better performance.

Apart from Newell there were no further changes at half-time and it was Posh who started the brighter. Ten minutes after the re-start Posh were
back in front thanks to a fine, jinking run on the right by Vassell, beating 3 Wolves players before being felled in the box. McCann stepped up to score
the penalty, hit low and with enough power to beat the dive of Ikeme.

Wholesale changes in personnel just after the hour mark disrupted the fluidity of the Posh game, with Gabby Zakuani coming onto the pitch to enthusiastic
cheers from the meagre Posh crowd.

Wolves were level once more after some comical Posh defending around 80 minutes as the Defenders left the ball for the Keeper and the Keeper left the ball for the Defenders,
all stood watching the ball trickle across the face of the goal before Edwards gleefully slammed the ball home from 2 yards.

Bostwick, Payne, Zak and Baldwin all played well enough otherwise none being outstanding. Tom Conlon was poor, frequently hussled off the ball and guilty of
    wayward passing.

Plenty of positives to take from a match we should have won.

The disappointments - I did not get to see either of the new boys, Jon Taylor or Erhun Oztumer play, looks like I shall have to go to the Brighton game on Saturday.

Nor did I get to see Dominic Iorfa, son of the famously erratic Posh player of the same name.

A good work out and value for money entertainment wise, Wolves are a decent enough side and there won't be many League One teams with their skill level, (though there
may well be a few more crunching tackles to contend with). Let us hope the little players like Oztumer and Drury (if he stays) are adept and nimble enough to avoid them.
