Darren Ferguson's men have won every game they have played this season including an emphatic 5-1 win at League One side Colchester United in the first round of the competition. The Royals were beaten 1-0 at the weekend, but Nigel Adkin's men will believe they have the squad to cope with the demands of the Championship and the Cup competitions. Ferguson hinted after the win over Tranmere Rovers that he is set to make changes to his starting line-up with Grant McCann and Kgosi Ntlhe under threat. 'I will definitely look to make changes against Reading. We have a squad and I have to utilise it. Jack Payne will definitely be involved so I may look to give Grant a rest in midfield. 'Mark Little was excellent when he came on so I could switch Craig Alcock to left-back and play him at right back. I have to be careful with Kgosi because he is a young lad and has been out for a long while in the past, so I need to take that into consideration,' Ferguson said. Posh and Reading have met regularly in the competition with the Royals winning 3-2 at the Madesjki Stadium last season. Paul Taylor and Lee Tomlin were on target for Posh
They are enjoying themselves at the mo .... nice to have points on the board this season & surprised to still be in the cup
Wasn't counting the goals .... as they didn't affect our goal difference Clean sheet against Reading was good I'm happy tonight
Wow stunning what a great night at LR treat myself to night in the Caroline Hand executive suite certainly picked the right game Made four changes from Saturday and we looked even better, Fergie's got some tough decisions to make tough but good Dwight.......who? George........ who? Craig ........who? Whoever scouts our strikers hats off to him Mclean, CMS, Gayle and now the best of the lot Assombalonga and fair play to Barnett seems to have sorted himself another good game tonight laid on a goal won a pen and was unlucky not score him and Britt are forming a formidable partnership As Fergie said this squad is special and the best we've had, we've had some great teams but this is a really strong SQUAD Nice to hear Fergie say post match that Tomlins not going anywhere Just a shame the Peterborough public wont get off their backsides and support the club despite cheap tickets and buy one get one free disappointing crowd of just over 4000
Maybe a disappointing crowd Fred but definitely not disappointed - As for Saturday, I would not make any changes from tonight's starting 11, each player coming in played well and do not deserve to be left out.
