Dave Robertson's men entertain a Spireites side that have won three out of the last four fixtures, a run that has propelled them into play-off contention in Sky Bet League One.

Posh go into the game on the back of four wins from five with a minor setback in the progress at an excellent Preston North End on Tuesday evening the only blot of the copybook.

Robertson remains in confident mood ahead of the clash with Chesterfield and believes the supporters can play a key role.

'The fans have been magnificent home and away since myself and the coaching staff took charge. They have been very vocal in their backing of the players and the players really do appreciate that support. We are looking forward to the game on Saturday.

'Chesterfield have enjoyed a good run of form and the nature of the league means that if you can put a run together you can get yourselves right into the mix. We are concentrating on what we can do and we have back to back home games at the ABAX Stadium that we want to perform well in and excite the fans.'

Jack Baldwin and Jermaine Anderson are the only injury absentees while Marcus Maddison serves the final match of his three match ban. Jack Payne is currently on nine bookings while Michael Bostwick is now on eight.

'I have had a chat with Jack Payne and I want him to continue to play his natural game. He is a combative player, who never shirks his defensive duties and if he gets another booking then so be it, we have good players in Harry Beautyman and David Norris that can come into that area of the pitch.'

Posh defeated Chesterfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final last season and this league fixtures falls on the weekend of the final with Bristol City facing Walsall at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

    So who will win ?

We have only lost away to Preston (no shame there) since Robbo took over

Chesterfield in their last 6 games have:
    • beaten Fleetwood, Gills & (10 man) MK Dons
    • lost to Scunthorpe, Rochdale & Coventry

Not sure I would want to predict this one ...... just hope we score first :)

    UTP <cheers>
