The last time we played the Iron was in 1979/80 and we won 6-1 at Fratton Park. Scunthorpe come to Fratton Park this evening being the only team in the Championship yet to get a point away from home! Pompey have won their last four matches without conceding a goal and Scunthorpe have lost their last five games in a miserable run of form in which they have not scored a single goal. Surely this is an opportunity to edge another place up the table and mid table safety? Incidently Pompey are now closer to the play off positions than they are the relegation fight. Yep Scunny have had 6 away wins inc Hull, Burnley and Watford, just the sort of bannana skin that Pompey normally slip up on. We will see if things have really changed for us tonight.
As you say a possible banana skin, we are also the only team in the division to lose to two of the bottom 3 clubs so far! PNE and the Blades, albeit both away by a narrow margin and earlier in the season when we were awful.
