They remind me a bit of Saints when we were in League One under Adkins (but a fishy skatey version) !!!!

I am thinking we might have the real derby back soon! maybe even next season !!!

How would that suit everyone !

Oh my gosh I said it

Hope we draw them in the FA Cup this season and batter them before they get any better.

    Well, we should....

We have been buying players from Bayen, Juve, Citeh and Lazio and they have been shopping in the Non League, but you never know on the day I suppose.

They sure are rekindling the romance. L1 is a beautiful place when you have good ownership.
    My one bit of advice would be;
Don't dream about promotion in May, the real trophy is the journey.

Only at home, wouldn't fancy this current side at Fratton at all.

Yeah, I guess you need strong characters and leaders in that volatile atmos. Still have nightmares about the first 4-1 there.

I remember when we lost 4-1 to them and they were being absolutely tragic in the Prem and we were tearing up League One. I was convinced we would win as they were useless (in terms of week to week in their league). Then despite it being a pretty even game they still hammered us score wise. So despite us being ****ing useless I still think we would beat a League 1 side regardless of how well each team is doing. There are levels in football

Yes, all I can remember about that game was the constant raking crosses over to the left wing to the Pompey winger (was he wearing pink boots or did I imagine that?) and cross after cross floating into our box.

Yeah I remember the pink boots too, and Jamie O'Hara running midfield... their pace was too much for our defence in the end.

If that was the case then upsets would never happen...

Jose was cup-tied IIRC and we had a couple of players in their mid 30s for CBs (Chris Perry and ?), always thought that we could've got something had he played.

Funny you say that mate but I thought exactly that after posting and you're correct in that Jose was cup tied and think Thomas was the other CB?

When they went 2-1 and we had to push we just got utterly destroyed on the break.

I'll never forgot that prick Grant going on to the pitch and bowing to all of them, only time I've wanted to release my inner Chilco... <whistle>

Not that I'm bitter of course <laugh>

Didn't Wayne Thomas score a screamer in the FA Cup that season against Ipswich?

The boots are still embedded in my memory. More an electric tangerine than pink, but mostly they moved bloody fast. Not sure who the player was, one of those talented but possibly unreliable Africans Redknapp had a habit of unearthing?
