    Match Preview;
    Our hosts on Saturday, Portsmouth, have won their last two games, against Cardiff and Oxford. Before that they lost to Sheffield United, drew with Burnley and lost to Millwall. They sit 18th in the table, 7 points from the relegation zone. Their top scorer is Callum Lang with 10 goals so far, *edit : but as is pointed out below by 9's, he pulled a hamstring so is out for this game. Their manager, John Mousinho, has been with them since January 2023 and has managed 111 games, won 50, lost 28 and drawn 33....a record that helped them gain promotion back to the Championship as League One winners last season. He is supported by his assistant, Jon Harley and their First Team Development Coach, a giant of the game and legendary defender...Zesh Rehman. :emoticon-0112-wonde

    As for us, three wins and three losses from our last six, and we are solidly mid-table, 13th, albeit only 4 points off the playoffs. Our last time out was a very enjoyable Friday night, under the lights, against Derby County. We not only won by four goals, but at times we played some really nice football which was very enjoyable to see. I know others disagree on this, but if we have a brilliant end to the season and sneak into the playoffs and somehow go up, I think it will be too soon and we've been there before. It isn't the right way to go up and stay up. I would, however, love to finish the season strongly and end on a high so we go into the summer feeling positive about next season.

    Interview with Marti Cifuentes is here...

    Glad to hear he gave the players three days off after the Derby game. Sounds like a good management decision for the players physical and mental wellbeing.

    Enjoy if you are making the trip, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    Cheers Dave

    I’m surprised that we haven’t played them more often. Even more that we have a winning record against them. Only improving this record will be acceptable.

    I had the same thought, but guess we've mainly been in different divisions.

    Only came here to say John Curtis. Did I give that last time?

    Anyway, smash these ****s. Having a lovely day at our most local/easiest to get to away of the season before anyway. We’ll probably lose 1-0 to a late Dozzell screamer.

    A win gives us a sniff at 6th but they're desperate for safety. Too close to call thiugh the odds are in their favour.

    12 in our group when it’s normally a struggle to fill a table on the train. We must be doing well. Does help that the train is £13.50 return.

    Nice one Dave

    Each time we get within sniffing distance of the top 6 we cock it up

    I'd love to see us hit Pompey and move to within a couple of points of the playoff positions but no doubt we'll get hammered today

    I hear some people saying 'we are not ready to go up'. Will we ever be ready? I doubt it. If it happens it happens and the Board will react accordingly

    Anyway, good luck to all those going today, I'm stuck in the office then Mrs WBA wants to hit the mall so will be stuck following on here and the Beeb
