Must have missed that, I will have a look for the committees contact details, would be a good contact for the lads in ours that go to away games
No problem mate, I Googled it and it came back with loads of things ... .... nowt to do with Sunderland though
I met him twice up here, he came with the lads to the cambridge, knew a few of our lot and was OK. Speak as I find. Never knew about those things mate.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet Did anyone notice Ballard came onto the pitch still wearing his training top? Took off his pre match jacket and realised. Had to peg it off the pitch to get his proper shirt on Just made it back for the minutes applause before the game
That's fair enough Bob, nowt wrong with that but I'm sure he was on his best behaviour with someone like you. He's not a supporter in my mind, he's an attention seeker. There's Portsmouth supporters who are asking the club to ban him permanently i think I heard. I'll check and put it on here if I find it. Edit - this isn't all of it but it gives you an idea, this is why it gives me the creeps the way he likes having his photo taken with kids. If he walked in on your lass, while she's in the women's toilet you'd probably put him on his arse John Westwood has been banned from his club's next two fixtures after entering a women's toilet. He walked into the female toilets and claimed that he was "transgender". Following the incident he said he meant "no malice" and was "just having a laugh and a giggle" because it was "women's day." But Pompey have not seen the funny side of the incident, issuing the two-game ban. Speaking to local outlet The News, Mr Westwood added: "I walked into the passageway before the toilets and didn’t go any further. "This woman came out of the toilets and told me to get out, so I left. I was just having a laugh and a giggle. Given it was women’s day, I thought I would identify as a woman to show solidarity with them. There was no malice intended." please log in to view this image The incident occurred during Portsmouth's clash with Sheffield Wednesday. The game was dedicated to the Her Game Too campaign, which aims to raise awareness of sexism in football. This isn't the first time Mr Westwood has landed himself in hot water at the club. Portsmouth have given him four suspensions this season alone. Mr Westwood was previously punished for making a lewd gesture at a friendly game against Coventry City, urinating against a wall away at Forest Green Rovers, and making an offensive gesture with his bell last month at Barnsley. He will now miss his club's games at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday and Saturday's away trip to Bristol Rovers. Some supporters have even demanded that Mr Westwood be banned permanently.
Rigg sending one of their lads to the shops.... https://x.com/RokerReport/status/1830334126592811284?t=whQAqwOxf8kGO6qpweiNrQ&s=19
Morning Chunk I had a chat last night and it's thought best to clarify the situation regarding Mr Holmes, the SAFC ticket office and the way the branches are being treat. The entire ethos of a football club should be to look after the supporters and the branches that help organise that support ... ... sadly Mr Holmes, the ticket office and even the club haven't managed to grasp such a simple concept. The fact that there were empty seats at Portsmouth, when people were denied the chance to go was shameful. We also had spare tickets given to us by people who decided not to travel and risk being turned away from the Portsmouth ticket office having been told Sunderland hadn't sent them. How sad they missed out on history being created. Despite the geographical difficulties the away support from Sunderland has always been phenomenal and the branches have always played a big part in that. Even when I ran an unofficial branch and coach, from Mansfield in the 70's and 80's, the club would work hard to provide tickets, guest appearances from ex-players, cheaper lottery tickets, etc. We'd go to every game, home and away, and liaise with other branches to share information, benefits and even tickets. Two of the lads I met at the Good Companion on Saturday were the grandsons of one of my Mansfield regulars, Keith Laing, who now lives on the Isle of Wight. The fact that Keith has managed to enthuse these lads to support Sunderland, despite the massive distance, is what gives me the most pleasure. It's a legacy I'm proud to have been a part of and you could see how proud they were to be wearing the shirt amongst hundreds more like them. I was proud to have helped them with tickets and further cement their passion for the Lads when they could easily go to any of the London clubs where their southern accents would fit in better. Anyway rather than pollute RTBs excellent match thread I'll paste the message 'The Gateshead Branch' has posted on RTG, on the Holmes/ticket office thread I recently created. https://not606.com/threads/robert-holmes-safc-ticket-maestro.413515/
Thanks for posting that mate ... ... I'm in the same boat as the Pompey player, I was there but didn't even see it happen
Quotes from Browne in the Echo - not sure if there is extra here compared to the SAFC interview https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...nd-issues-eliezer-mayenda-explanation-4764590 “I thought I was quite comfortable in the end,” Browne said about the game. “We limited it to very few opportunities. Even the goal is on our behalf. Other than that, I don't think they troubled us too much. At the other end, I think we were clinical when it mattered. Broke forward really well. As I said, we didn't have much to defend, but anything we did, we dealt with really well.” Browne was on the scoresheet for the first time as a Sunderland player since his move from Preston North end this summer. The Republic of Ireland international poked home Eliezer Mayenda’s goal-bound effort but explained he pinched the goal to make sure it stood. “I wasn't sure if someone was behind me or if it was going in, so I just made sure,” Browne explained. “I'm not a little goal-hanger that likes to claim goals. But yes, I definitely got the last touch and it's great to be off the mark.” “If we had managed to keep a clean sheet, I think it would have been brilliant as well to win four with four clean sheets,” Browne reflected. “But at the end of the day, it's all about winning and as long as we continue to do that, then that's all that matters. We've put ourselves in a really good position going into the break. I think it's really important not to get carried away with it and make sure our mindsets are on it as soon as we come back. “That's the most important thing, to always look to do better, look for more. And as I said, we're all gutted that we didn't keep a clean sheet. It just shows the attitude at the moment in the dressing room. It's not just all about winning, we want to keep clean sheets as well at the other end. So, yes, so far, so good and hopefully we can continue to drive in the right direction.” Reflecting on his summer move to Sunderland, Browne added: “I've slotted in quite well. The boys are fantastic, they've got some really good attitudes and the talent is there for everyone to see. And I think it's just about bringing that talent out as much as we can. People aren't going to be on it every game, but if we have seven, eight, nine players consistently performing, then you can afford to have one or two off days. But so far, everyone's been really good and I've been really impressed. So, long may that continue.”
Thanks for posting mate, that's a great read. I'm not going to bang on about this but, just to say, he speaks like a captain, acts like a captain and will become our captain. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll be reminded
Mayenda needs to be sat in a room with someone like Kevin Phillips imo, then go through various clips of themselves. He's working so hard, at his general game, that he deserves better coaching in the most critical aspect of his role. I was actually pleased that Browne nicked his goal and hope he's spent the weekend festering about it. When you look at the chance, from the Portsmouth end, he should've smashed it in first time, it was literally an open goal. All top strikers are selfish and decisive, that's partly inherent but can be learned ... ... I think Wilson will show him both of those qualities.
I hope we get promoted this season, just so I can continue seeing this lad playing for us. If we don't, he's getting bought for 40m next summer
Dunno if this has been posted, but what a ball this is from O'Nien. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/smAvmuUco11WUDdQ/
