Portsmouth have completed the signing of Derby County striker Luke Varney for an undisclosed fee. The attacker has signed on a three-year deal. Varney has only made 15 appearances for the Rams, but impressed on loan at Blackpool in the Premier League. He bagged five goals in 30 appearances for Ian Holloway's side. The 28-year-old follows Bournemouth skipper Jason Pearce and Ipswich midfielder David Norris as the third arrival at Fratton Park this summer. Derby boss Nigel Clough said: "Luke leaves with our very best wishes. "Despite not being in our first-team plans, he has been a great professional and shown an exemplary attitude on and off the training pitch."
