Assuming the game goes ahead tomorrow, I think Gillingham will line up as follows.......................
--------------------------Nelson-----------------------------------
Hewitt---------Legge-----------------Barrett----------------Martin
-------------------------Gregory-----------------------------------
Harriman--------------Hessenthaler--------------------------Smith
-------------McDonald----------------***an-----------------------
Subs: Howard (GK), Davies, Linganzi, Dack, Weston, Akinfenwa, Pigott
I thought Amine Linganzi was OK against Brentford but he looked lost and his positional sense was off which might be down to a lack of match fitness and a lack of match sharpness and I think we should drop Amine Linganzi and bring back in Jake Hessenthaler, who has got a decent range of passing and Jake has been improving the more matches he plays for The Gills, OK the pitch was not great at Brentford and perhaps we wanted Amine Linganzi to provide us with some physical presence, but that just did not happen at all last week..
I would also start Connor Smith in Myles Weston's spot because Connor Smith has been waiting patiently for his chance and I think Connor would be able to offer Gillingham more when we don't have possession of the ball and he would give us more defensive capabilities down the left hand side, Myles Weston has been poor when he started the last two games and Myles Weston has shown that he is an impact sub player at best because Myles Weston is not a 90 minute player.
I would stick with ***an and McDonald up-front because Craig ***an is playing some fantastic throughballs for Cody to run onto as ***an played through both passes against Brentford on Friday Night, Cody should of scored in the first half but he made up for that miss by scoring in the second half, Akinfenwa seems more effective as a sub rather then starting matches ans the same goes for Bradley Dack as well, both players tend to come on and make a bigger impact in the game compared to when they start matches.
Last season in the same fixture we had a 8,000+ crowd, both teams were going for promotion and The League Two Title and Port Vale had Lee Hughes in their side that day as well, neither of us are going for the League One Title this time around, Lee Hughes is no longer at the club and I think the attendance will be over 6,000 because it is kids for a quid tomorrow, but it will defiantly be a subdued atmosphere inside Priestfield Stadium.
Hopefully we can keep our impressive home form going with another win and three points tomorrow - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!
