Sat in the east stand on saturday, i could not believe that the Newcastle Supporters in the North Stand could make more noise than the home crowd. The only time you could really hear any loud singing or chanting was Anti Owner Chanting. Yes make a comment, but why not SUPPORT OUR TEAM VOCALLY. Our away matches seem to have vocal support from the Tigers fans. Come on everyone. Sing for 90 minutes (plus extra time) show our players that we want them to win.

Hence why going to away matches is far more enjoyable than home matches. More noise and singing for the lads.

We are split all over the shop for home games. But it is the same at most grounds re.home fans being quiet nowadays.

Away support is always more vocal than home support at all matches. Newcastle get 50K at home yet away fans still sing louder up there.

Wish it was different but fear 4K Mackems will be loud and proud on Sunday unless we get comfortably ahead in the game.

The geordies only really started making a noise when they were well in front, up until then it was small groups and occasionally.

This has been a problem for years though , I think about 75% of our home crowd aren't interested in making any noise

    Nor mine.

On the highlights they can clearly be heard singing the Geordie version of 'Don't sell McShane' as Huddlestone's free kick comes in for Bruce's chance. You can also hear us responding with the proper version. Theirs was louder though.

The Newcastle fans were loud from start to finish. They were like it on the footbridge going home. I think the region is just generally a loud gobby one anyway.

It's not just accoustics, because I could clearly see them, so unless they were not moving at all when they were chanting and the noise drifted away, it was commented on around us that they were relatively quiet until later in the game.

TV sound is no real reflection on the noise in the stadium.

Not sure where you sit but where we are it was noted that they were loud all the game. Someone near us also pointed out just before kick-off one larger Newcastle fan who had taken his top off. Not pleasant when they scored and he jumped up and down! Bit like that Pompey guy but less tats.

I often find the problem with home support is that most people are only happy to join in the singing and by the time the song has reached just a fraction of the stadium those who started/joined in early have stopped.

Not sure if those which don't join in straight away are to blame or those who don't keep the songs going, but its always been the problem at the KC

Aren't the microphones for the tv coverage all behind the goals?

The Toons definitely made a lot of noise on Saturday, but as has been mentioned, the away fans usually make more noise, we did at their place.

It's all down to perceptions and personal experience. It was actually people around me that commented that there was only a few singing before I'd really paid much attention. The fact they started when they were in front, but only really got going once they were well in the lead was notable after that.

I guess a part of it is that people around us sing quite a lot, so the away fans need to be a lot louder to be heard. But when I looked over to the North, there didn't seem to be much movement.

The atmosphere at the KC has definitely got worse as we have moved up the divisions rather than better though , a bit strange really unless thats the general trend in English football

The more expensive it gets, the more the demographic changes.

i think we have had the odd game were the atmosphere is very good however not enough. I went to both Sunderland and WBA away and i thought they were both very quiet were as City were singing non stop. I think a lot of it is arriving early going for a few beers and everyone seems to join in when away

Personally I am not a singer, even at away games. I am sure there are others like me who don't want to sing or feel the need to sing to show support. I do shout a lot though. I am the noisy one where we sit. I don't see any shame in not singing. Though others on here I am sure would disagree.

If the Pardew incident had happened at most other Premier League grounds the fans behind would have gone mental.

At ours they just gaped uncomprehending.

Even when Pards got sent off, they neither clapped or cheered.

It's like they seem to be genuinely neutral and afraid top open their mouths.

These people will NOT get behind our team and cheer the lads on.
