Cant get my head round it. I'm a big supporter of Brucey but that was a ridiculous team selection. A 10 million pound centre forward on the bench. I feel for our midfield who did they have to aim for? Who did Greegsy have to kick to? That should have been changed at half time, well after ten minutes actually. We played Stoke FFS. They arent world beaters and we set up like that. Sort it out Brucey
**** tactics and **** performance. At least everyone below us lost, but ffs what an opportunity wasted.
Winnable game against Stoke. 1 shot all game. 0 shots on target. 0 strikers on the pitch. 3 strikers on the bench. How the **** has this ****** ever managed in the premier league? Even a Sunday league u-5's manager wouldn't make such basic ****ing errors so consistently. I would just so love to know what actually goes through his thick fat skull when he picks a team. As an aside, it looks as though the Phelan factor has worn off and Bruce is back in charge.
To be fair, the team did what Bruce wanted. We set out to lose the game, and we did. Everything went to plan.
Yep,when N'doye and Hernandez were on,City looked quite dangerous.Ought to have started with at least one of 'em.
Happened far too many times this season for me, he gets far too much slack because he's a 'nice bloke' imo.
Easy in retrospect. If we win on Tuesday this will be forgiven. I think SB hoped the players he picked would do it for him, and let the others rest up. If I am honest I think we went for a point and were never going to chase the game unless behind. Stoke away are never a team you expect a result against, so we went there cautious.
Got to admit that was a disappointing team selection today. To be fair I think he picked fighters because that's what you have to do at Stoke, and he probably wanted to keep N'doye fresh for Tuesday, but Aluko instead of Hernandez as a lone striker made no sense. The only positive was Huddlestone playing further forward.
In retrospect? I saw the line up at 2pm and knew instantly how the game would go. Steve Bruce had all week to come up with a team and somehow didn't come the same conclusion, in an entire week, than everyone else did in a matter of moments. And he served his favourite dish. A steaming pile of ****.
Why the **** do you start a arguably winnable fixture without a striker on the pitch? Mental. This and Tuesday night were both winnable games, we should have gone for 6 points.
It's happened a few times this season.Today was a real head scratcher.I get Brady and jelavic weren't available, but N'doye on the bench? He must have been worth an hour from the start.
So Brady is out for a number of weeks, possibly months. Jela is the knee injury flaring up again, 50/50 for Tuesday night. N'Doye just rested. Biggest question still has to be why our £10 million record signing who looked dangerous when he came on didn't start.
Not starting Hernandez was an utterly ridiculous thing to do, I know he's not looked good as a lone striker previous, but he's better than no ****ing striker.
