No shots on or off target in the first half. It sounded like the Peterborough players realised that this was a six pointer more than ours and we wouldn't have scored were it not for the penalty. I am baffled how Martin and Reo are still making the starting line up.
Not a happy tractor boy (again) today.

    Could've been worse San Diego.

We are not stranded so 7 points from these five games is a good return.

Just as we would not be safe had we scored, it would not be the end of the world if we'd lost either.

McCarthy is still getting to know his players and it was interesting to hear Mick Mills talking about Tommy Smith being the only vocal defender with such experience alongside him.

We badly need to drop Henderson and Higginbothom but aside from that it will take a while for McCarthy to find his best XI.

I'm not all doom and gloom Hampy. Just unhappy with a very poor performance and a missed chance to get three points at home against a team down at the bottom with us. We're just lucky that the other teams around us are struggling too. Other than that, not many positives from today.

Well, if the Posh draw or win in the reverse fixture they will maintain their title as 'second best team in East Anglia' for another season! <laugh>

Town were piss poor for 70 minutes and failed to capitalise on any of their chances in the last 20. We were lucky to be awarded a penalty as the ref was awful.

Posh held on (literally, in the case of Murphy, who was being hugged throughout the game - not once spotted by the ref, even when he was inches away) for the draw.

Given how poor Town played, I'd say it was a very good result.

It was a good result in context to the actual game. It was a poor result because I wanted more from this match.

If we continue to play like that we are in big trouble. No commitment, no intent, no passion, no idea. Full marks to DJ for 100% commitment and as much as I hate him, Chopra showed effort but other than that abysmal. If this is still 'new manager bounce' then start digging out your atlas of obscure league grounds - we will need it.
As Hawkins said, a horrendous first 70 minutes and a lucky penalty to gain a point.
Nothing against MM but these players really need the biggest kick up the arse ever handed out to a professional sportsman.

    OIC. Fair point then.

I thought they'd be well up for this game. 6 pointer and all that. They couldn't have cared less. Not worth getting the soles of my shoes wet. Just poor, poor, poor. Still, could have won it with a bit more motivation at the end as Posh were flagging. How's your luck?

Top tip for professional footballers. When you get a free kick, goal kick or throw in, don't wait until the opposition have organised themselves nicely or returned to their half, get on with the game, know where you're going to send the ball and just do it! Goalkeepers especially. We know you don't get much limelight (well, ours do - for the wrong reasons) but try not to hold the game up with your 'shall I throw it? No, I'll boot it upfield' crapola, just do it! They won't be ready and we can score goals.

If you want proof, look at any successful team. Then do the things they do.

    Angry,
    Ipswich

Rubbish performance, dire first half, can not remember a shot on target. Allthough we improved second half, Peterborough seemed the more likely to win. We have to face facts that most of our players are not up to championship level, no pace, balance, or composure in the team. Hyam got ironic cheers when he came on, but to me he is not good enough, think he is bummed up because he is a local boy. As for Tommy Smith, have seen pensioners moving along Felixstowe promenade quicker than this guy. Look where he lost his man near the end, and nearly gave a goal away, due to his lack of pace and reading of the game.

One little tactical criticism amongst alot of complaints about lack of interest. As much as Im not a Murphy fan, if you dont play him and decide to play 2 midgets up front then please do not aim every goalkick 50 foot up in the air. WE HAVE NO ONE ABLE TO WIN IT -ffs its not difficult is it. Today our target was the giant that is Carlos Edwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unbloodybelievable!!

Sadly been away from any tv, radio today so just found out the score and by all accounts from posts on here a far from convincing performance. So much for my 3-1 prediction. As has been posted on here already thankful others around us are struggling to so we are not stranded yet. Mick will get us sorted, he must now have a pretty good idea of who his starting eleven is and the deadwood he needs to ship out and what type of players to try and bring in.

It's not even as if Carlos was difficult to spot. He was singing "Hello. Is it me you're looking for?"
