Bournemouth wrongly denied a goal! http://www.101greatgoals.com/goals/...freak-winner-cardiff-1-1-draw-official-video/
Just logically to have it disallowed. Bit like Nani's goal against spurs or another incident (was it the same one?) when the spurs played kicked the ball to the keeper to take it but the ref deemed it as having played the free kick when it blatantly wasn't. The played deliberately stood there to be a nuisance and even though "legal" i'd be livid if the ref gave it. Sometimes common sense should be used
That's bollocks. He in no way tried to block the keeper or impair him in releasing the ball. The keeper kicked the ball, quite cleanly, straight at him. "I had a shot ref but it hit the ****ing defender. Give me a free kick & book the bastard."
The keeper, deliberately kicked the ball at the player as opposed to the player deliberately blocking the keeper!
To be fair we haven't seen the whole game and the Bournemouth player involved may have already stretched the ref's patience with similar antics.
If it costs Bournemouth automatic promotion and they fail in the play offs would it be the most expensive error yet?
Maybe i'm seeing it deliberate but semantics to me. He has deliberately stopped the keeper from kicking it out by standing in his line of kicking. Just like the laws of the game is that any attempt at fouling/a slight tug on the shirt, an arm on the shoulder is actually a foul, football is a physical game and common sense is there will be some type of contact even though you can call a foul on it. Oh well... just me XD
I see what you are saying. He's standing there and the keeper kicks it at him and theres little movement when the keeper goes towards the player rather than upfield. Maybe the keeper was expecting him to move out the way and by the laws of the game the player isn't doing anything illegal. For me though he's deliberately taken a position which pretty much takes part of the field away from the keeper and it's not normal for the player to stand next to the keeper (bar keepers time wasting and dropping the ball on the floor). For me it's not a normal "tactic" to stand near the keeper as for me its obstructing the keeper from kicking it out. Just my opinion though and i guess within the rules of the game the goal should have stood just as within the context of the game you can foul attackers by holding onto them as long as the ball is out of play.
This is simply a case where one referee way award a goal and another may award a free kick. If you read the Laws of the Game you will find that the discretion of the referee is regularly mentioned. Speaking as an ex-referee, I would have awarded the goal and I sympathise with Bournemouth.
I've not reffed for years so might be a bit out of date on the rules, I think it was unsporting behaviour and therefore not a goal. Ref was spot on imo.
