The 'Pool' Saturday and a great time to start burying all these 'super clubs' we used to be glad of a point from. Hope MON plays a positive side and we go after them, like WBA did. 3-1 sounds nice to me and look forward to the moans from the scallys next week! P.S. Apparently, you cannot buy a beach ball from Seaham to South Shields......(just in case!)
Pool outplayed WBA for long periods of the game and they also matched Man City, so have no doubt it is going to be one hell of a tough game..
Liverpool are wounded having had a dodgy start to the season so not sure what the outcome will be but, will settle for a 1-0 to us.
you have just ruined a good story with facts, so you will have to tell me a good story now, it must be about the dippers, and contain a we won scenario. thank you in anticipation
Once upon a time in a land not too far far away there was this beach ball . . . . . . . . . whose next?
I think the pre-amble to this game will be dominated by todays report about Hillsborough and I hope that we can all give the minutes silence true justice but once the game gets underway I really hope we can help make their season even worse on the pitch with a good solid win.
That's OK. They stop in Blackpool on the way up and rob their own supply. Mind it'll take a canny lob from the new away seats to get one on the pitch this time.
The minute silence is on Hillsboro day to have another one as a result of the independent enquiry findings seems pointless. Keep it as a fixture and nothing else.
I have to agree with that - a minutes' respect to celebrate the findings of the government that the police lied seems a little off to me. The minute's silence to respect those that died should be on (or the nearest fixture to) the day the event happened - not to say I told you we did nothing wrong (which most football fans knew anyhow) If they decide to have a minute's silence then what next? If the coppers that caused it are locked up do we have another one? Where does it end? - keep it tol Hillsborough day and nothing else IMO Blatanty there will be a poignant atmosphere because of this but (in my opinion) I don't think we should have a minutes silence
I don't know how this fixture could go lads, in light of yesterday's events I don't think anybody would fancy taking on Liverpool this weekend. Had yesterday been just another day I think you could walk this game, but that just changes things for me. That has brought their club together massively, they've finally been given what they wanted, they have the truth now and we could be about to see 23 years of hurt spill out into their football. We're going to Anfield next, I don't fancy our chances at all. They raise their game enough as it is for us, I really think this will galvanise Liverpool, maybe temporarily or maybe long term. Anfield will be electric when we go there. Last week I'd have said 2-0 / 3-1 to you guys, they look awful, but I just get the feeling that they're gonna turn up, be ready for Gerrard to play the game of his life. Suarez will probably still miss every chance mind!
Any team can outplay the other, it doesn't matter if t5hey don't score the goals to win, look at the Barcelona v Chelsea game in the champions league, Chelsea had one shot on goal & score to win the game.
We have a great home record against Liverpool, and I don't think that yesterdays developments will have as big a bearing on the park as some would suggest. I don't think Liverpool are a bad side at all, but I do think they are in a group of 6 or so, including ourselves, with very little between them, and as it's ou first home game, and they usually sell out, I expect a good end to end game and a narrow victory for the lads. I'm sure there'll be a rousing reception for the players & fans of the oppo, as there has long been big support from our end of the victims of Hillsborough, but a win for us will put us on a very handy 5 points from 3 games, we'll be well up for it. 1-0. Fletcher opening his home account and getting well on his way to terrace idol status
