POOR OLD QPR FEELING DOWN By Kevin Price; John Curle 23/07/2011 Decrease font size Increase font size Tweet Betting boys That person with his head in his hands? No, not David Cameron or Rupert Murdoch. The one who looks truly suicidal. He's a QPR fan - you can bet on it. Can there have ever been so many negative noises coming out of a promoted club as those coming from Loftus Road? After romping to the Championship, QPR are likely to sell their Player of the Year Adel Taarabt to Paris Saint-Germain. Amazing. But not as amazing as these words by beleaguered boss Neil Warnock. He said: "I don't think I'll be getting any of the money. I think we have just got to look for Bosmans and look for shrewd acquisitions, loan players etc." Now, we don't subscribe to the spend-money-at-allcosts football culture. But a new team in the Premier League needs some investment - if only as a statement of intent. To show the fans and rest of the league that they mean business. Selling your best player and looking for loan signings spell only one thing. Relegation. Qpr are still 7/4 (Victor Chandler, Betfred, totesport, Paddy Power, Boylesports) to finish in the bottom three and we will be helping ourselves. They are also 13/2 to finish bottom (totesport, Boylesports, Betfred) and we wouldn't put you off that either. The Scottish Premier League kicks off today with Rangers entertaining Hearts at Hampden Park (kick-off 12.30pm, Sky Sports 2). Odds to win the title: 5/6 Celtic, 6/5 Rangers, 33/1 Hearts (Coral). If you fancy Hearts, they are double that price with several layers. Amir Khan faces Zab Judah in Las Vegas (1.00 am, tomorrow) in a light-welterweight unification bout. Judah has been in with some big names but come up short. Still, he is a dangerous opponent and Khan will have to watch himself. Odds: 1/5 Khan, 10/3 Judah, 35/1 draw. Ive tried to look at the situation positively(god its been hard!) but i must admit the position these idiots have angled us in to is complete stupidity. And i just dont get it! Do they truly believe that we will survive this season with the squad we have? do they care that their "investment" will be worth much less when were languishing in the lower halves of the league? Will the Mittals be remotely interested in a team that that will need major investment if they want to take-over with only 6 weeks of the transfer window remaining ?is the bookies favourites to go straight back down? Im looking for a jules winnfield moment of divine intervention!
