After 20 odd years of having everything go right for the red half of Manchester they now appear to be calling for the managers head after 6 months of mediocrity, I think they should think themselves lucky to have had that long at the top.

I agree but I think Fergie knew it was time to get out as the team is on its last legs and needs an overhaul, I think that Moyes is the man for doing that but I'm not sure he will get the time.

Whilst they might not be the best team, if Fergie was still there no question they would be doing alot better than they are, i'd even suggest they'd be at the top of the league. Man U haven't had a really good team for a few years really but he always gets them competing.

You've got to give Moyes time though, it would've been tough whoever came in, perhaps someone like Mourinho would have come in a given them more instant success but I doubt he'd build for the long term.

Like what is happening there, the worlds most falsely supported club. Keep Moyes there I say

I used to despise Man Utd with absolute passion around 10 years ago. God I hated them. Only Ipswich winning gave me any more satisfaction watching football than Man Utd losing.

However, over the years Fergie sadly mellowed, and Wenger easily took the mantle of the most annoying manager going.

I wish what is happening now was unfolding a while back under Fergie, it doesn't feel so satisfying with everything going wrong under Moyes.

Also, when I went to Man City v Real Madrid their fans were an absolute disgrace. So they are more detested by me now than the boys in red.

Still, it's mildly amusing and long may it continue!

' I agree but I think Fergie knew it was time to get out as the team is on its last legs and needs an overhaul, I think that Moyes is the man for doing that but I'm not sure he will get the time. '

Comparable to Tony Blair getting out leaving Brown in one hell of a mess, but that's another story for a very rainy day!

Westy, i agree..it doesn't seem so satisfying now that fergie is not there to take the flack. In fact, if anything, it's made him more of a genius.

i think majority of country is enjoying seeing united struggle. i don't doubt Moyes will get it right given time and bringing in fresh blood. what half the fans are forgetting is it took Fergie time to make them a force so chopping Moyes in already would be foolish. but hey it's united. who cares.

I hear the "It took Fergie years to get it right" story all the time, but what yu have to remember is, Moyes took over a title winning team, and apparently strengthened it by siging Fellaini - i honestly can't see how a manager can make such a big difference (until i remind myself the difference between MM and our last two managers)

Fergie is sitting in the stands laughing his beetroot head off! He knew that last season would be his last season. His greatest ever achievement was to win the league with that squad! That must go down as the weakest team he has ever put together! Sly old fox is Fergie, he knew when to get out just in time for the whole house of cards to come crashing down on his successor!

The trouble is Weighty that they budget to be in the Champions League every season and this year they will be lucky to qualify for the EUROPA League! <laugh>

A United supporting colleague at work mentioned when Mancini was sacked that it was because City had just had a "disastrous season"... given the number of Championship club supporters in the room it was only going one way..

"2nd place in the Premier league and Runner up in the FA cup, as a Middlesborough fan I just can't relate to that level of disappointment" was just one of a number of the responses that were being thrown around
