http://www.skysports.com/football/n...76m-after-breaching-financial-fair-play-rules doesn't seem to have got much coverage how well did Howe do on his tiny resources (sic) and how the little club did it right... Total BS as we all knew Watford were the triumph of last season...!!!!
You can bet your bottom dollar they would have made a much bigger fuss if it had been Italian funded Watford breaking the rules, muff and Howe remain their little darlings.....
Yes Sky is a bit late with this one. At the end of the article it states that it cost them £4.6m to bring the stadium up to PL standards. I wonder how much it cost Watford? Gantries for TV, an additional studio for TV, increased floodlighting. cables for goal line technology, a better standard of pie for visitors, the costs just keep adding up.
Yes, the money our owners have pumped into our club since they took over is astonishing: the stadium, the training ground, the players, the backroom, everything. We might have been within the FFP regs but we have spent way more than Bournemouth over this time and we shouldn't put ourselves on a pedestal; it is only because of the group of clubs that our finances look so rosy during this heavy investment period.
How Arter wasn't sent off v West Brom I'll never know. All he got for the yellow he should have got for the shove was a pat on the back from Clattenburg!
I may be alone in this, but I'd like to see more "unfashionable" clubs in the PL. I've grown a bit tired of the same handful of rich clubs dominating the trophies won. I'd like to think Leicester (or us of course) could do it again but I doubt if it will happen. BFC and their manager may not be everyone's cup of tea but I've more time for them and their fans than the likes of Chelsea and Man City. Each to his own, I suppose...
I didn't say I approved of that. I can't speak for Norwich, but our own club's finances haven't always stood up to scrutiny. Clearly the bigger the club, the more they're able to hide how their owners came by their vast fortunes. All I'm saying is that I regret the passing of the days when smaller clubs still believed they had a chance of winning things. It doesn't look as though the FFP rules are hindering the rich clubs much!
With the relegation of Villa and Newcastle it won't be long before most of the 'big' clubs in England are playing in the Championship. I, too, look forward to the day when the Premiership mainly consists of 'pygmies'.
