amateur hour! What they should do is have wall to wall coverage of the window for the last couple of weeks of the window with constant reminders and count down clocks to the minute/second. That should do the trick. No one would miss it then.
Embarrassing and amateurish by the club. I really feel for Silva himself though being dicked around in a World Cup year where players want to have a top year to make sure they're picked for their country. There's contrasting rumours whether he has signed and can't play until January or whether the entire deal would fall through. For his sake I'd hope the latter so he can continue playing for Sporting and not effectively have a 4 month ban through no fault of his own. Having said all that and what a joke the club is, it doesn't change the suspicion that if it was a 'big club' then FIFA would turn a blind eye naturally
You are probably right about that last part. Can you imagine Mourinho if that happened to one of his signings
One Real, Barce or PSG.... I don't think anyone could defend Leicester for ****ing up but when the organisation trying to enforce the rules is one of the most corrupt going it leaves a sour taste. I suspect a bung their way would also change the decision. If the paperwork was sent before (even by seconds) and the few seconds it arrived after was IT related it shouldn't be blocked but I guess if it was that simple it'd be resolved by now so there must be things even the media are just speculating about
14 seconds! How ****ing ludicrous is that! So who's clock was ****ing spot on? How can EUFA prove their clock was true according to GMT? And why even announce that it was 14 seconds late? Who's taking the piss here? Leicester should sue their ****ing arses off! That's the view of me and Mr Guinness tonight anyway!
I do think it depends if the documents were sent after the deadline or received as if they were sent leicester and Silva shouldn't be penalised for IT. If they were sent after then its tough **** for us as where do you draw a line. We shouldn't have allowed ourselves to be ****ed around by Chelsea over Drinkwater
It's insane though. How can they prove 14 seconds in a court of law? The degree of corruption in football is off the scale, but seriously? 14 seconds? How the **** can that be held up in any court of law? And what about the player? Where does that leave him? It's shocking! Beyond belief!
As I said, it's the player whose the victim. They're trying to make an example out of us where big clubs would get away with it. Is it because like many powers that be they're bitter about the title win? Is it punishment over sacking Ranieri? I don't know but they're punishing the player who can't play in a World Cup year potentially. I guess most player should of big clubs would be happy as they're just there for the money but if this is a player who prioritises playing football it's awful. Now it's in the media it's difficult. They'd have been better off just passing it for that time but now they set a precident. The only way it can be agreed to is if they confirm everything was sent before the deadline
Only if Spurs signing Jansen and Sissoko should be on the profoundly and prophetically excellent "Spurs Spiral" thread, Quentin ... so in short, no. ...and not least because your spiral prediction saw us go on to win the EPL title ... making the thread title one of the worst judged ever and leaving you looking a bit of a mug, Quents ...
John has summed it tbh ... monumental fcuk up on our part ... should have just signed the lad irrespective of the Drinkwater situation (we've been chasing him for 18 months ffs ) ... but the cynic in me suspects that if Man United had been even an hour late then the transfer would still have gone through on some technicality ...
