ALLY McCOIST wants Rangers to be competing with Celtic when they’re back in the Premiership – to stop the Hoops winning 10 titles in a row.

With Gers set to play in the Championship next year, Neil Lennon’s side could have sealed their fourth league flag on the trot by the time the Ibrox men return.

CEO Graham Wallace revealed at the club’s AGM that the manager’s budget will be cut and admitted a top-tier title tilt may not be possible right away.

However, McCoist insists it’s imperative Gers are quickly on a par with Celtic before the Parkhead side run away with a record number of championship wins.

He said: “I can understand 100 per cent that the fans want us to compete immediately with Celtic to stop them winning nine or 10 in a row.

“We’ve lost around £50million worth of players and replaced them with a squad of free transfers.

“So we have no divine right to challenge for honours in the top league. When you look at the facts and figures we shouldn’t be competing with Celtic all of a sudden. But the worry is that Celtic will be off and running with the Champions League money behind them. That’s obviously a big concern.

“Competing with them immediately would be the ideal situation but I accept it might not happen right away.

“If we have the number of season ticket holders we have, it’s my job to get a winning team out there. I have to give the fans the best team possible.”

Is it now suspected that cash donated to the Rangers Charity Foundation is being used to purchase thousands of unwanted match tickets from The Rangers FC Ltd which are then given away to anyone or no one – and this is being presented as an admirable act rather than naked fraud? If true, it is yet more proof that all morals and acceptable modes of behaviour have been turned on their heads and betrayed by this cankerous farce.

The question is, though, who among our legions of brave Scottish sports journalists will dare to ask the question that must be asked. Namely:

“Has Rangers Football Club received funds from Rangers Charity Foundation in exchange for these thousands of ‘free’ tickets?”

    Fixed.

That's the REAL question that our brave Scottish sports journalists should be asking <ok>

Celtic have never been punished or held to account for the biggest child abuse scandal in British sporting history.

Same as you can work out why Rangers are giving away free tickets.

    Are they?

    First I've heard of it.

And, of course, you can prove this ?

Attendances at Celtic and rangers have been declining since 2008.

Of course I can, here's some evidence.

RANGERS has today donated 650 tickets for the Boxing Day fixture against Stranraer at Ibrox to people who are affected by homelessness and living in isolated circumstances.

“Earlier this month the club donated 2,000 Ayr United tickets to local schools, community groups and charities as a thank you for the support it receives from the wider Govan area each season and we will continue to support those in need through the Rangers Charity Foundation.”

    No.

I'm aware that Rangers have given tickets to some of the less fortunate.

I meant proof that cash donated to the Rangers Charity Foundation had been used to purchase match tickets.

    This.

This is the reality of Celtic without Rangers.

    Their fans have walked away.

Even if rangers were in the same division how would that impact the number of people who turn up to watch celtic v hearts?

The only difference would be 2 sold out games per season when we play rangers were it won't be a sell out otherwise.

Nah, but then again who needs proof when any crackpot theory can be promoted on the internet, as long as someone is willing to take the time to write it.

The fact that we fill Celtic Park for European games shows that it's not Rangers in particular that we are missing, it's competitive football.

    Fukcn stroll on...<laugh><laugh>

Such denial from two of the more educated Tims I've met on the net.

What chance is there for the rank and file, the nougats, the groin brigade and the rest of the doeheids that follow ra shellik ?

The reality is you're bored ****less with Scottish football and the serious lack of competition without us.

The whole of Scottish football is in the doldrums because The Rangers that some of you wanted kicked to death have been sorely missed.

    Dem's de facts bhoys <ok>
