And it was WHEELER who doubled the advantage moments later, bundling the ball into the net from close range when Thompson effort cannoned back off the post. A prolific few minutes for Pompey was then capped by SMITH firing a third past Luke McCormick in the Robins goal. But the visitors almost pulled one back just before the break, with Jak McCourt sending the ball against the woodwork. McCourt was Swindon’s most dangerous player and he did reduce their deficit on 50 minutes, while another attempt was cleared from the line by Matt Casey. It was the Blues looking more dangerous in the closing stages, however, and Wheeler sent a shot narrowly wide, before McCormick made a fine double save late on.
