Well deserved 1-0 win for Pompey, with a headed goal in the 54th minute, from who else but Brett "The Hitman" Pitman, following a lovely cross by Matty Kennedy, who had replaced Kyle Bennett at half time. A good game which we edged, especially in the second half. The penalty at the end of the first half was a total joke, as the supposed 'incident' was missed by the referee who was standing close by, but apparently seen by the linesman who was some way away. Nile Ranger totally blazed his awful penalty attempt well over the bar, which was true justice. Ranger who was incarcerated for involvement in armed robbery as a teenager, also served a prison sentence for fraud in 2017, reminds me of Adebayo Akinfenwa in sheer size, but lacks the latters footballing ability completely. The attendance today was 18,431.
Good summary Woops. I thought we controlled a lot of the game and probably should have put at least one away in the first half. A pleasing result though because they are a team on a good run with a lot of higher level experience.
