I have to admit, I thought that Southampton were going to completely destroy us this season, both home and away. With all our difficulties on and off the pitch, I did not believe 4-1 second that we would put in the performances we did and come away with two fantastic points. That was definately 1-4 the collection of positives in our season. ANYWAY, my main point of this thread is just to say that I am excited about next season for our League 1 tour, and I very much look forward to the next league meeting between Pompey and Saints in the 2013-2014 season. I was lucky enough to be in attendance to the last two El Classicoast matches, and cannot wait for the next two. PLAY UP POMPEY!!!
Me too Jake. It will as you say be in the 2013/14 season once they have been humiliated and relegated from the EPL and we have risen again in glorious fashion back to the Championship
Watch this space, you heard it here first... I wonder what the odds would be right now on it happening? Exactly! In Appleton we trust! I wonder if Saints may manage to beat the prestigous record currently held by Derby County
and cannot wait for the next two. _____________________________ You shall be an old, old man the next time we cross paths in a league game my friend.
I am sure we will meet again, but I think that the Cup is the more likely prospect for the next few seasons. Anyway, you lot show such a lack of ambition. Why not meet us in the Premiership in a few seasons time? We will be waiting for you.......
And to quote someone with a good footballing head,'form is temporary, class is permanent' enjoy your season getting smashed in the Premier League every week,. until we meet again the next season for the derby's!
Talking of class Minging, next season we will be hob-nobbing with the elite in First Class in nice comfortable and luxurious surroundings, you, unfortunately, will be roughing it with the riff-raff in Third Class on a particularly bumpy journey....
Oh dear... You are once again concerning yourself with Saints position/status as opposed to your own clubs... This is brilliant!
There seems to be more chips on shoulders than at my local Chippy. We are Premier League With what's looking like a Bright Future You are League 1 With Nothing to say anything will change for the best, only the Worst. Your used to being in our shadow So get over it.
Your club is several years older than ours isn't it? Hhhmmmm - having just had a look at the England First level all-time tables - being in your shadow is quite a stretch of the imagination.
I have been watching Southampton since 1965/66 3rd eye, so about 46 years and you have been in our shadow for about 40 years of that. I am sure a supporter who has been watching since the war could get closer to balancing the ratio out, But still in our shadow.
Have to admit Possum that the info I was looking at covers the period 1888/9 to 2010/11 - so all in all and from day 1 - rather than just cherry picking a period.
I am not one to nit pick but you actually heard it here first! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/133145-Don-t-worry-Lads-in-blue!
I am looking forward to bringing that article to your attention about this time next year Sb If for some incredible reason it does happen though, You will find me on Holiday with my phone switched off
I'd love to start a sticky bunfight, with a thread only for debating attendances, trophies etc; Then I could get anyone on another thread, that so much as dared to go "off topic" debating about Attendophies as they are to be known as from now! But that would be a tad cheeky, given my love of the obscure.
