I am not happy with Guly. I am normally a fan of his but he had a poor game today. He really should have shown more bravery for their goal. He could easily have got that and then we probably would have won. Having said the general performance from the team in the 2nd half was good, we probably deserved to win.

Hooiveld was man of the match by a country mile, at least a 9, he was a rock at the centre of defence all game and has the strong mentality needed for big games like this. For once I agree about Guly, he just never fancied it today and should have been subbed, although he got better in the second half.

Davis - 6, Assured performance, glad to have him back Richardson - 7, Excellent defensively even if all his attacking manoeuvres didn't pay off Fonte - 7, Looked more like last season's Fonte, a decent performance Hooiveld - 8, Great performance, very calm Fox - 6, Apart from the assist didn't have a great impact on the game, delivery was hit and miss Schneiderlin - 7, Improving as a more attacking player, such an important player for the side with his passing ability Cork - 7, Good energetic performance Hammond - 8, MOTM for me, particularly in the first half ran the game from in front of the centre backs Lallana - 7, Excellent first half, faded a little in the second Guly - 4, poor all over the pitch, gave the ball away a lot and missed good oppourtunities. Fans will probably turn on him after a passion lacking performance, perhaps need to be dropped to the bench. Lambert - 7, good goal and always looked a threat, Pompey had done their homework and dealt with him fairly well in the first half. Harding - 6, didn't have a lot to do.

Question - why on earth did NA keep him on? I was shouting the TV to bring on Steeeeeeeve to replace him and give us a bit of pass up front?
I will be interested to see Adkins post match interview. Like others, I was thinking that Guly was adding very little today and De Ridder might have run at the tired legs really well. Was he protecting him for the Xmas fixtures? I was happy to settle for a draw before the match but now feel cheated of 2 extra points.
Interesting to see the differing views of Morgan Schneiderlin. I thought he done alright personally. Still get annoyed that he has to play on the right though.
