After a gap of almost a month between home games, Pompey now find themselves with two in the space of a few days. And after confidently beating Bristol City at Fratton Park on Saturday, they will be searching for a similar outcome when Norwich visit the south coast this evening (7.45pm kick-off). Their opponents currently sit 10th in the Championship standings – eight points clear of the bottom three and six adrift of the play-off spots. Johannes Hoff Thorup will want a positive reaction from his side following a 3-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. The Canaries are the highest scorers in the division, with Borja Sainz leading the goal charts having already struck 15 times – including hat-tricks against Derby and Plymouth. But most of their wins have come at Carrow Road and there have been just two on the road, along with five defeats. Pompey and Norwich have not met in the league since the 2010/11 campaign, when both triumphed in the away fixture. But there was an FA Cup third round clash in January 2019, with Andre Green's last-gasp strike causing a shock against a side on course for promotion to the Premier League. TEAM NEWS Jacob Farrell (knee), Conor Shaughnessy (calf), Mark O'Mahony (hip), Jordan Williams (hamstring) and Kusini Yengi (knee) are all sidelined for Pompey. Ibane Bowat is set to miss the the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, but Harvey Blair is available again after missing the Bristol City game following a knock to the head. Andre Dozzell and Callum Lang are both serving a one-match ban this evening after picking up their fifth booking of the season on Saturday. Gabriel Forsyth (knee), Liam Gibbs (hamstring) and Josh Sargent (Norwich) are all currently missing for the visitors. I'm watching the match live on SkySports+ this evening, so be back probably at full time. Here's hoping for another good display from Pompey, and all three points if possible!
Final whistle, and it's a 0-0 draw. We had what looked like a decent goal disallowed in the second half from Connor Ogilvie, with the referee claiming that Matt Ritchie had fouled the Norwich keeper when a cross came into the box. Strange decision really, because Gunn punched the ball out of the goalmouth, with the loose ball being smashed home by Connor Ogilvie! The Canaries are a very aggressive side, with 6 bookings to our 3. Connor Ogilvie seemed to be fouled virtually every time he touched the ball. Still, a point is a point, and it's good enough to lift us above both Cardiff and Argyle who lost at home to The Swans! That's 8 points from the last 4 games...
