Kenny Jackett could shuffle his Portsmouth pack for Monday's Sky Bet League One clash with Coventry. Pompey claimed a late, smash-and-grab 2-1 victory at Burton on Friday, with defender Matt Clarke scoring an added-time winner. Bryn Morris, Omar Bogle and Ronan Curtis all came off the bench to inject fresh impetus at the Pirelli Stadium and Jackett could slot all three into the starting line-up for the visit of the Sky Blues. Brandon Mason faces a race against time to be fit for Coventry. The former Watford left-back was a last-minute withdrawal from Mark Robins' line-up as City saw off Bradford 2-0 at the Ricoh Arena on Friday. After conceding in five successive league games and only recording one win (D1 L3), Portsmouth have won each of their last two against Coventry, keeping a clean sheet in both. Portsmouth have won each of their last three home league games, they have not won four in a row at Fratton Park in a single season since a run of five ending in December 2017. Coventry are currently unbeaten in six away league games (W4 D2) after defeating Sunderland 5-4 at the Stadium of Light in their most recent such fixture, they last went seven consecutive away league games without defeat in a single season in May 1998 in the Premier League (8 games). Sam McCallum stepped in for a rare League One start and could be primed to retain his place at Fratton Park. Robins could also turn to the more experienced Junior Brown, who took a seat on the bench against the Bantams. Opta stats Portsmouth have lost just one of their last seven home games in all competitions against Coventry (W3 D3), a 0-3 defeat in April 2011 when both teams were in the second tier.
Stayed up to follow the thread on the Snooze. Difficult to get any impression of the quality of the football but it must have been exciting. I'll go to bed now and leave Peterborough to beat Sunderland - hopefully!!
Wow!! Have Pompey got nerves of Steel. We shall see v Sunderland in fron ot around 40,000 fans baying for revenge.
What a match ! Coventry started the game well, with quick ball movement and passing and thoroughly deserved the lead in the 9th minute scored by Jordy Hiwula-Mayifuila. Second half, Kenny Jacket made two changes at half time, with Ronan Curtis replacing Gareth Evans, and James Vaughan on for Oli Hawkins. We improved considerably, and Tom Naylor headed home from a cross by Lee Brown in the 66th minute. With the crowd behind them, Pompey continued to attack, and when Coventry's keeper Burge fumbled a cross from Ronan Curtis, who other than skipper Brett Pitman fired home the winner in the 83rd minute. Brett received a standing ovation when he was substituted by Anton Walkes in the 92nd minute. Another win, and three more points. Good news that Sunderland could only draw away to Peterborough, so they trail us by 2 points, and we still have a game in hand over second placed Barnsley. Nice to see Conor Chaplin receive such a great ovation from Pompey fans when he came on as a late second half substitute. Attendance was 18,884, of which circa. 1,200 were Coventry fans.

Thanks Wooperts!! Can the divine forcé last another three games? Can we somehow defeat Sunderland and 40,000 fans, and then somehow overcome Peterboro still in the chase for e play-off place. If so it could be party time on May 4th!!!
no chance of 40,000 now mate we(SAFC) have well and truly blew it today, weak as piss all over the pitch and our season has just ended.
no chance of 40,000 now mate we(SAFC) have well and truly blew it today, weak as piss all over the pitch and our season has just ended. They keep doing this to us.
Keep the faith Monty!!!! I can see parallels with Southampton here in 2009-10. Missed out on promotion the first season but then stormed to promotion the second season. SFC were far too strong for League 1, so are Sunderland!! If it is the play-offs, who is entering them in the best frame of mind? I feel with PFC there is a steely strength there, although technically the other three involved are better footballing teams.
