Portsmouth could give Lloyd Isgrove his debut in the Sky Bet League One clash with Bristol Rovers at Fratton Park on Tuesday night. Midfielder Isgrove joined on loan from Barnsley before the transfer window closed but a knee injury has meant he is yet to make an appearance for Pompey. Nathan Thompson remains unavailable for manager Kenny Jackett after he sustained an injury to his knee in training and is set to be out for another week. New signing Omar Bogle has been struggling with cramp in recent matches and it remains to be seen if the striker starts. Stuart Sinclair could feature for Bristol Rovers for the first time since New Year's Day. The midfielder struggled with a concussion in January and was an unused substitute against Shrewsbury on February 9. Rovers have won one of their last five matches and boss Graham Coughlan will be expecting a good performance against the promotion hopefuls. He told the Pirates' website: "It's going to be a mammoth task, it's a big week for us. But it's one we're looking forward to." Portsmouth have won each of their last nine games at Fratton Park against Bristol Rovers in all competitions. Portsmouth have won 12 of their last 15 games in all competitions against Bristol Rovers (L3), scoring 30 and conceding 14. Portsmouth are winless in their last six league games (D3 L3), their worst run since failing to win in nine games in January 2015. Since losing five successive league games between November and December, Bristol Rovers have lost just one of the last nine (W4 D4). Tom Nichols has been directly involved in three goals in his last three games for Bristol Rovers (1 goal, 2 assists); as many as he had a hand in through his first 23 games this season.
I am indeed pdu. Sounds very much like Omar Bogle may be missing with a dead leg, but hopefully James Vaughan will come into the team alongside Oli Hawkins.
We will start winning again in March. Somehow, somewhere, PFC need to unearth a win to keep a place in the play¡-offs as the prime target. In addition, I hope KJ is targetting winning the Checkatrade Trophy.
Rovers came for a draw which they achieved. They were a niggly side. Poor first half, with their penalty an absolute joke with Clarke-Harris going down theatrically under Tom Naylor's soft challenge. We looked better in the second half with Omar Bogle coming on for Oli Hawkins. Their second penalty was deserved, but this time Clarke-Harris blasting his shot sky high over the bar, landing I believe on the M275 ! Two points dropped again, and as Ides has said above, we need to start winning very soon if we have any play off ambitions.
As It Stands:- Team ..............P GD Pts 1 Luton .........33 38 71 2 Barnsley ....33 31 66 3 Sunderland 32 25 62 4 Portsmouth 33 19 61 5 Charlton .....33 15 56 6 Doncaster ..31 19 53 7 Peterborough 33 7 52 8 Blackpool 32 6 48 9 Coventry 33 -1 46 10 Fleetwood 33 8 45 11 Burton 33 2 43 12 Wycombe 33 -5 43 13 Southend 33 -1 40 14 Accrington 31 -9 40
5 wins should secure a play-off place plus a few more draws, unless Peterboro or Blackpool win at least 9 or 10 of their remaining matches. Being greedy, I´ll settle for 7!!!! If we finish 4th or 5th, then the pressure is on the 3rd palced side to live up to their final placement.
Four points from seven games = relegation form! Apart from us only Shrewsbury have gone 7 without a win and we are 21st in the form table for the last 7 games. If the same form was to be repeated for the next 7 games we would only just be hanging on to the last playoff spot by a point
