http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22167294 Good news for the fans of "that lot" or just another step along their crazy fiscal journey?
I'm six months the PST will be skint again. Income based on attendances of 15k+ for League 1, and they're just not going to get that in League 2... Will be hard for them to attract players given the clubs history, and until the points deduction is confirmed.
presumably the football league will show consistency and fairness when they announce that the points deduction will take effect from the start of next season now they are relegated anyway....
I wouldn't bet on it. It almost seems churlish to wish a consistent application of the rules on them though, considering.
There was a group of Luton Town supporters trying to organise a petition to the FL for Pompey's punishment to be in line with theirs, no idea if they went ahead with it or not. Seems a bit petty to me as it's not like Pompey's situation affects their own.
Consistency from football league, consistency from refs - we've not seen it before. 10 points next season should be imposed but PST seem to be pretty confident! Full house today so that changes how I plan my day in PO4!!
Be interested to know as a percentage "ownership" of the club, how much is related directly to normal fans donations? I bet its less than 50% when you exclude the "high net worth individuals" (who are really running the club?), the Council Loan and the parachute payments. So really, without the Sky money, the council money and the rich fans, this takeover would NEVER have happened. So who REALLY owns the club eh?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22167294 10 points this season, they have got away with it, bottom of the League where they belong I guess.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22167294 "Portsmouth's 10-point deduction will be imposed this season, after coming out of administration on Friday. " "It was speculated Portsmouth's points deduction would be carried into next season but the Football League announced on Saturday the punishment would come into effect straight away." One rule for one and another rule for others
I'm not gonna bitch and moan about it, but does anyone here know what the difference is between ours and their situation? Is it cut off dates etc.?
Why did the FL even bother taking them off? Might as well have said they couldn't be bothered with the -10 rule anymore!
http://www.football-league.co.uk/fo...ortsmouth-exit-administration_2293334_3150287 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22167294 - As well as penalty Football League have imposed restrictions on playing budgets, future borrowing & loan repayments for the next 5 seasons.
Awful decision from the FL. They should start next season on -10 as punishment, they're already getting relegated.
