No surprise at all. By the time Hull City play down there the Tea Lady will be in goal and the ground staff will make up the defence. Well maybe not that bad.
I've heard that tea lady has got a decent left peg. Pearson tried to sign her for a couple of million but she said she would rather make tea.
I find Pompey like a dying animal, over time you can see it's dying and it's just a matter of when, shame!!
so thats 2 more games with there current squad then. Armageddon starts w/c 20th Feb may i suggest team wise ?
Here's the deal, they could not sell anyone as their bank accounts are frozen (like ****ing Fratton Park) Administration opens the accounts and the players can be sold and staff paid out of the proceeds. The PL payments are now available, but the threat from the HMRC is gone. 10 points but still able to play and see the season out.
Real shame for the true Pompey fans - but let's hope the fans' trust that wants to get involved and start again on a different footing can make a go of it. Big ask in the present climate though - Portsmouth not an affluent city by any standard.
On a more positive note. How many clubs go into administration, and how many survive it ? Who was the last club to fold in England? There must have been 30 clubs in as many years to find themselves in bother, including us of course. But how many actually folded ? At the end of the day,all that matter's is your club survives and you can carry on with the ritual of going to footy of a satdee. In which ever div you might find yourselves. That's what you need to hang to !
Yeah, they got their parachute payments advanced to pay for it. Presumably yours have been advanced too.
The Pompey financial crisis drags on. Feel for the fans having to put up with it all and hope for their sake that things are resolved once and for all. The club only has itself to blame though.
How would we lose 3 points and a game in hand? We'd lose 3 points, but we'd only lose the game in hand if other teams had already played them twice, in which case they'll probably lose more than 3 points. (I'll do a table later on)
they didn't fold, they were effectively sold as a franchise to milton keynes. Which is something i have a decent knowledge of being a fan of NFL were it is relatively common there is now a rule in place that doesn't allow this to ever happen again though (because of Wimbledon)
