how can a EPL club be run as badly as this?

They get min of £30 mill from sky plus the player sales over the last 2 years.

Closer to £60 million now NOL. It's because the Premiership thought it was immune to this sort of thing and just let any old muppet buy a club a overspend. I think it's funny really, nobodies fault apart from those who run the club. Not fair on the fans but **** em'

£60 mill. Thats a ****ing disgrace. I feel for the fans as well. Peter Storrie wants shooting

Aye the cash in the EPL is a joke. Players are holding clubs to ransom too.

The worst part of the Portsmouth thing is everyone bumming them for winning the FA Cup, but look where all that daft spending got them. No wonder Platini wants there to be harsher regulations.

met a pal of mine who's a pompey fan for a pint a couple of wks ago. he made it clear he didnt want to talk about it <laugh>

They had Crouch, Defoe, Krankjar, Johnson, Sol Campbell, David James all on massive wages & there ground only holds 20k or so, so they were probably losing £250k+ per week!!!

They bought these players on credit if you like, spreading the transfer fee over a few years.......yet when they sold them they demanded the money upfront. When you sell these players you have to pay off some of their contract as the player did not ask to move, when they were signed they would have demanded signing on fees etc too.
