To be honest I feel sorry for the fans BUT.....Portsmouth should be instantly relegated. This is the second time in three years.
10 points is a bit of a joke IMO, the money they spend on wages for quality players should not have been allowed.
Why should other clubs suffer when they keep their books in order and spend what thay can afford.
All the games they have played this season are with players that they could not afford.

You also have to feel sorry for all the businesses and suppliers used by this club......

Portsmouth should be docked more than 10 points as this is a recurring and regular event and even with a 10 point deduction I don't think they'll go down so where is the punishment ?

    Weren't Luton deducted 30 points ?

    Having thought about this..

Pompey have been using Bristol citys money to pay wages to players who may well contribute to our own relegation.

My sympathy is beginning to wane slightly..

have you looked in to our wage deals and how our club has been run this season or the reason for admin before making these comments?

the club has a strict wage cap in place that is endorsed by the football league, the squad is kept exceptionally thin to keep to these rules. we had a five year plan in place to make the club self sufficient however due to existing contracts we were relying on money from our owners over the winter months to balance out the books. antonov was a major shareholder in csi that owned our club. he has been accused (not proven guilty yet either) of various kinds of corruption etc in a bank he is a shareholder in nothing to do with our club what so ever. which has led to his assets being frozen including csi and therefore portsmouth fc. had this happened a few months down the line it would not have been so much of an issue. we have not been spending stupid money, ok we spent more than most pre season but how many other teams only had 8 players on their books? we have no reserve squad and a first team squad of 18 players including 17 year olds that have come straight through from the youth system. (currently have 14 available players)
from what i have heard and read henderson was purchased on an instalment plan (not unusual) and the only reason payments would have been missed is the fact that our bank account has been temporarily frozen this will now be reopened and as a football creditor you are secure and will be payed in full.
(great keeper by the way am surprised you parted with him)

hope we are both still in the championship next year and best of luck with your season, I enjoy my trips to ashton gate (plus jamo is a legend)

Until the wage bill of clubs is compulsarily restricted to a scale related to the funds brought into the clubs through gate money, this problem will continue to cause difficulties.

To be fair to other teams, Pompey should be deducted 20 points. I sincerely hope that they don't fold - that would be appalling and not something I'd wish on any team at all.

Don't forget this is not just about football.Pompey also owe money to local businesses and utility companies as well as the taxman. The last time this happened they got away with murder and the people they owed money to outside of football were totally shafted, within weeks of coming out of administration they were signing prem players on big money.I'm sorry for the fans but you lived the dream at other peoples expense and I for one think the 10 point penalty is ridiculous.
