Just wondered if any of you are trying to get Pompey away tickets and if so how you're getting on? Also, for those who aren't going, whats your opinion on the whole ballot system? So far I've been to Leicester Cardiff Derby Reading and Palace (incidentally haven't seen us win on the road once this season!), and I've got my Coventry and Bristol tickets. With Donny Rovers that brings me to 8 away games (bloke at st marys said cup games do count) so I think this should be sufficient. Interestingly, tickets for the home game from Pompeys perspective have been on general sale for a while now and no sign of an immediate sell out, in contrast to St Marys which last year saw people sleeping overnight to snatch a good ticket! Any views on the coming derby?
Firstly, want a Saints win..5.0 will be adequate. Secondly, want Saints fans to be above reproach because we mustn't blow anything now. Thirdly, everyone back safe (just needing a little plastic surgery to remove permanent grin).
Sotonjoe, going by your current track record..........I'll get you a ticket myself considering it is probably the biggest derby outside of the prem, I reckon the ground will be full, I hope that both sets of fans behave, afterall we are on the beeb box.........which will also have an effect on tickets I am sure. Your going well...........but lets be honest, this is probably the second biggest game of the season for you, the biggest being us at home......this could be the game that sets your stall out for the remainder.......... PUP
Haha cheers, the hundreds and hundreds of pounds I've invested to try and get that Golden Ticket (incidentally a ticket allowing me to stand in one of the s***test grounds in the country for two hours of my life) I'd be gutted if it didn't work out And without a shadow of a doubt the match in December is the bigger game of the season for me, one in 3,500 of us coming up! I should think 50,000 people would love to be in that position. But I agree we are the biggest Derby outside the Prem, even Millwall West Ham just isnt what it used to be, and it should be a f**king good game regardless of the scoreline (0-8)! Buzzing.
Revenge is a dish best served cold Can't wait for this game, although we have a lot of important games between now and then, am absolutely buzzing! Just hope the idiots that want to cause trouble (from both sides) do it away from the ground and don't let the innocent people/families get caught up in it. Although, saying that, I think this coach idea might actually work
How brave (stupid) would you have to be to get a ticket in the Pompey section? Fee fi fo fum, we can smell the blood of a Southampton man.
I agree it would be stupid but if I couldn't get my hands on a Pompey away ticket, I would seriously look into the possibility of a Pompey home ticket. That said, I saw first hand at Plymouth away (little plymouth!) some Saints fans in the home end getting absolutely battered. But hey ho I think I should be set for a legit ticket with saints (touchwood). The one thing that is troubling me is that we all know that Saints always manage to f**k up at least 5 or 6 away games a year, and by f**k up I mean lose against silly little sides we should destroy, last year I stood and watched us lose away to bottom of the table Walsall for example. Pray to God this isn't an example of one of those days because like I said, we should absolutely destroy the Skates this time around.
That 4-1 capitulation to them at Fratton Park in 2005 still hurts (not too bothered about the St Mary's 4-1, that was a cup game and they were then Prem and us L1), so I want us to stuff them out of sight. A 3 or 4-0 on their home patch would be nice but, failing a thrashing, a 1-0 will do.
I love going to away games but to be honest this one doesn't interest me,i'll be watching on the box but to be honest when it's about other things other than football i can't be arsed with it.
Been to Fratton a few times, not bothered about going to the one in December. It's on the telly, I can watch it up the pub with a few mates (both Saints & P*mpey supporters) and have a bit of lighthearted banter.
ive only got 3 away games so far this season. i'll try and get a ticket but i doubt i'll get one. i expect the whole family will be getting together and watching it otherwise
I have been to a couple of Pompey games at SMS with no trouble, but wouldn't go to Fratton Park. Watch it safe at home, but if we go 1.0 up or 1.0 down the same thing will happen...I'll turn off the TV and hide under the duvet. Can't bear this fixture. Luckily we won't play them next year unless we draw them in a cup
Sat with the opposition a few times, politely clapped when we conceded, withheld air punches when we've scored, but at Fratton, thats a risk I wouldn't be interested in. Just how could you contain yourself when Lambert bags a hat-trick!
We've all tried to head in close chances...real give away. Can you imagine the moment when thousands of pairs of close-set eyes turn in your direction followed by the sound of knuckles dragging on the floor as they surround you.
In RE to some of you buying tickets for the home ends. you won't be able to unless you are on our database. As with most of you, I'm am absolutely buzzin. No match in the UK gets close to the intensity of a South coast derby at Fratton. I'm especially looking forward to seeing how your players react to the atmosphere. The last batch didn't handle it well. Here's hoping for a good match, but most importantly and pompey win.
I am the Hermanator, a few adjustments needed: Saint: We're coming for yooouuu. Pompey: Aarrgghh! (High whinnying cry of terror) Saint: We are Southampton, we're taking the p!ss. Pompey: Go easy on us, please be gentle, you have an unfair advantage over us (starting to feel queasy) Scummer: you dirty skate b@stards! Pompey: How far shall we bend over for you? (dropping trousers)
