Good match ! Truly wonderful debut by man of the match 22 year old Ben Thompson who is on loan from Millwall. He was superb from the start - very talented player. 4-1 was a fair result. First half we were in complete control, how we didn't score goodness knows. Oli Hawkins was brought down in the box for a penalty, which Gareth Evans took only to be well saved by Oxford's keeper Mitchell. Second half the chances went in. Gareth Evans made up for his first half penalty miss, substitute Dickie conceded an own goal, and the impressive Jamal Lowe scored twice, his second goal was superb. There was still time for Jack Whatmough to concede an own goal himself. We thoroughly deserved the three points. Shame Oxford resorted to time wasting tactics from the first minute with their really slowly taken throw ins - no wonder there were 4 minutes added on in the first half, and 6 minutes at the end of the match !! Unbeaten start to the League season after three matches, and second in the table. Early days, but nice while it lasts
I do like that new scoreboard. Some epic tunes played today, unfortunately two of them were ruined by talking over them: Life of Riley by the Lightning Seeds and Walk of Life by Dire Straits. At least we got to hear most of Mr Blue Sky.
Wow! What a fabulous win. 4-1 is pretty good. Jamal Lowe is worth 20 million, and imo is as good as Redmond. Curtis, could also be at a similar level. Put a big prce tag on the pair now! I hope this shows the Powers that be, the PFC is worth investing in both on and off the field. If promotion is secured this season, a big new North Stand with a capacity of around 13,000 is required and the design of which could be to curve it to join up with the Fratton End.
