They conceded the opening goal at Copnor Road, but Harvey Hughes (pictured) levelled before the hosts struck again through a trialist to lead at the interval. It was then the turn of the Dons to equalise, but Maxwell Hurst came off the bench to convert a late corner and ensure the Blues finished fourth in the standings. Professional development phase coach Liam Daish said: “It was a great victory and I was really pleased with the performance of the lads. “They kept going after conceding the opener and I was pleased with the reaction because they stuck to the process we’d worked on. “We went ahead by the break and although Wimbledon got back on terms, it was a great goal from Maxwell to win the game. “It nice to finish on such a positive note against really strong opponents who can always cause you problems. “All of the lads who were involved – the under-18s and the under-16s – contributed to what was a good home win.” Pompey: Toby Steward; Jack Fox (Mitch Aston 76), Izzy Kaba, Harvey Hughes, Harvey Laidlaw; Harry Jewitt-White, Trialist (Gabriel Kamavuako 65); Howell (Trialist 76), Trialist (Maxwell Hurst 84), Alfie Bridgman; Dan Gifford
