Northampton took the lead early in the first half, but Pompey equalised when Eli Grant and Koby Mottoh combined to set up Dan Murray to score. Harry Clout hit the inside of a post, and Koby Mottoh forced a good save from the keeper. This resulted in a corner where Zac Whitelock scored to put Pompey 2-1 ahead. Late in the game, Pompey conceded a penalty, but the spot kick was saved by Bastian Smith. Pompey are now through to the semi-finals of the cup.
