point at Brentford and Boro to be turned over next Saturday, I suspect if we lose any it will be against those teams we expect to beat at home, City`s achilles heel has always been against such teams, when the so called big boys roll into town we normally turn up and do the business.
I think we'll draw against Boro next week. They're almost as strong as us (cue the amber tinted spectacled knobs) and I just worry Brucey will set us up (just this once) not to concede. I can see the merits, drawing with Boro keeps them at arms length per se, but if we end up with Diame and Maloney up front again I'm not sure we'll cope with the sustained pressure we'll be put under.
I predict our next loss will see some in here calling for Brucies head as well as having a breakdown over it. With hysterics.
I predict that taking all our strikers off, with half an hour to go, while defending a one goal lead, will lead to far more hysterics than any loss.
We've still got Burnley to play at home nailed on 0 points for that seemingly annual clusterfuck performance
Pal of mine, Spurs fan, said "You've got three in there with you - Boro, Derby, Brighton (maybe)" I told him there were four. He didn't seem to know about Burnley..
Play like yesterday and we'll do well to nick a point against Boro. We won't get away with playing within ourselves against one of the promotion rivals. Play like we did against Birmingham and we'll likely get a positive result. I think Brucey knows this and we'll hopefully see a performance and tactics like we had against Brum for the Boro game.
If they play as poorly as they did then its the right thing to do. Diame is better in the air than either of them anyway and Maloney is a Number 10.
We put ourselves under unnecessary pressure yesterday, as we always do when we have no outlet up front, we should never play without a striker on the pitch. Obviously we got away with it yesterday, but it's regularly cost us, if we're going to play two up front, we need at least one striker on the bench, it was a mistake not having Luer as an option to see the game out.
Brentford at home on the back of four wins will attack from the off and the result will depend on whether our players are ready to battle. 2-2 Boro will set up defensively. They will be more wary about us at the KC than we are of them. Our players will have marked this game on the calendar and should be up for it. 1-0 City
Diame was a good outlet and Maloney only came on with 10 minutes to go. I doubt Bruce knew they were both going to be so poor, Abel and akpom. Akpoms gone back to how he was 4 games ago. Bit sulky, whining about being tackled/shoved.
Brighton have got a hard away game on Tue at Sheff Wed , City win , go top , never lose top spot till May 2016, up as Champions by early April
Akpom was poor, he definitely needed to come off, but without another striker available, Hernandez should have stayed on (he was far better than Akpom). It turned out okay, but I still don't ever want to see us play without a proper striker.
