Is it now time to take Karius off my Clown line-up image

Poll closed Mar 10, 2018.
  1. Yes, he's the dog's bollocks of goalkeepers

    27.3%
  2. He's still a bit of a flapper

    36.4%
  3. Why did you put him on the line-up in the first place? So he can't tie his own bootlaces, so what?

Karius is the second clown in the line-up

In all seriousness him and VVD have had a positive influence on that defensive unit as a whole and there seems to be a constant line of communication. Still prone to the odd error but that's the case with any defence.. You get to 75 minutes with a lead and I'm not fearing the worst.. Karius is growing in confidence and VVD is looking fitter and his presence is raising the game of whoever he is partnering.. Lovren has been solid alongside him.

I'm just glad to see the end of the morale eroding rotation. Still think the jury is out on him but hope he continues to grow in confidence and build a relationship with the back 4 .

He'll get his confidence eroded to a stump if we bring in that girl from Roma.

seems so but they've only played together v spurs and karius flapped at one and it dropped to wanyama who hit in fairness a worldie and lamael dived over a big swining van dijk boot for equaliser.

We need them to show they are solid and not making errors v top half teams.

i just posted what i mean on seasons progress thread. we are conceding too many goals v top half. We have been much better (or in other words fantastic) v lower half this season.

hopefully these guys will not panic at the first mistake like lovren etc used to. and frankly the others in midfield need to cover better.

oh btw.. robertson makes few errors when in the back line defending. much more solid than moreno.

Karius' confidence won't matter if we sign Allison

one thing Karius is clearly much better at than Migs is acting as a "sweeper" which makes us less susceptible to being opened up by 1 long punt out of defence.

He wasn't. VVV, on his debut, gave Karius a bollocking for not coming off his line!

True but generally, Karius plays higher up.

With him and VVD, our defence can play a few yards higher which now compressed the space in the middle for when teams try to attack us.

I’ll give Karius until end of the season to prove himself. But so far since coming back, he’s improved quite a bit and is making crucial saves.

Alisson is still immense and performing at a world class level this season. Will be interesting to see if we go for him.

As i said i want to see them v decent opposition.

    1.92 goals per game against....

    need to improve that.

CL and utd and cheslea games are where i will judge karius.

one good save yesterday. that was all he needed to do and he did it. so who knows.

    Karius is 24.

Joe Hart went from top top, top prospect to calamity James in a relatively short time. I hope Karius is doing the reverse, as that is how it should be, getting better with experience.

He's doing well of late, I think his style fits our game better, he will make mistakes.. lets see how consistent he can be, and how he handles making mistakes.

goalkeeping is a lot of times about mental ability.

    concentration
    calmness
    focus.

Karius had piss all to do yesterday but did the few things he had to without an issue.

We've seen mingolet make awful errors due to going to sleep or lacking focus on what is happening. we know that he could cut it out for a while last year but it returned again.

Focus on the game for 90mins is hard to do when there's little to do. the difference between top keepers and keepers who look good down the bottom is this ability to be ready when that shot comes in from nowhere.

getting your angles right 100% of the time is tough

His confidence is up and it is showing.

The position is his if he wants it.

Hoping Migs will then leave and we forget he ever arrived.
