Is Alan Pardew our most promising manager since Sir Bobby -

Tactically he gets it right and even when we were shouting for 442, no Ameobi and Santon to start then Ameobi has a screamer, 442 works even in midfield and Raylor plays one of his best games at Lb.
Transfers - he (along with the board) has created a better team than last year with much more pace, skill and creativity.
He obviously likes (dare i say loves) the club and wants the best for the club, he wants to get results and has kept up our team spirit.

    the other contenders -

    Graeme Souness
    Glenn Roeder
    Kevin keegan
    Joe kinnear
    Alan Shearer
    Chris Hughton

    Also -

    John Carver
    Nigel Pearson

He's better than Hughton, even if we arent signing "one Alan Pardew" (yet), and while Shearer showed promise, Pardew is definitely the best since SBR for me.

    Don't even mention his name..

Hmm.. Now that you show an actual list of the managers we've had, and how they preformed. Hughton and Pardew have been by far the best. Graeme Souness was..dreadful..Glenn Roeder was a one season wonder, Keegan let everyone down, Joe Kinnear goes without mentioning, Shearer made no impact and arrived too late..

So..dare I say yes I think he is!

Close call between him and Keegan (disregarding the fact he walked).

I remember he had us playing a fantastic 433 formation, and he played a masterstroke deployed Owen as an Attacking midfielder, also getting the best out of Viduka and Martins. He definitely wasn't tactically inept.
He wouldn't have taken us from 20th in the 1st division to runners up if he was "tactically inept."

From what I heard (was before my Newcastle supporting days) our defence was brilliant with the likes of Peacock and Albert at the back.

Might get a little stick for this but I thought Pardew got it wrong at the start today. Did well with his substitutions though as I was made to eat my words on Ameobi. Obertan should never have started IMO and Santon should have. Whatever though. What I am really impressed with though is the reports of the way he goes about training and managing the personalities at the club, seems to be doing a great job of instilling that team spirit and togetherness.

I was one of the complainers when Pardew came in and I've been proven well and truly wrong. Long may it continue.
