For me the only way to loosen the stranglehold of the Tories is by neutering the written media. As you said in another post, McDonnell and Corbyn were preparing to tackle that problem.
Even now Murdoch (king maker) is a regular visitor to number 10 and I saw something recently that said, iirc, that of news briefings given behind the doors at number 10, 86% of those meetings only included journalists from right wing newspapers.
What were the plans rumoured to be? What exactly is meant by “neuter the print media”?
I have been thinking over the past few days as to who Johnson is comparable with in terms of character and ability. And it is Berlusconi, another world class charlatán, who, like Johnson does now, appointed ministers (bimbos in his case) with absolutely no aptitude for.the task.

Politics is going to change and I think that as capitalism is discredited, the dividing line will be on progressive matters perhaps centred around identity issues and the environment . The issue of the "economy" will seem less relevant when there is no planet to support ecocomies. I do not see the issues that appeal to traditional Tory voters having a similar appeal to a younger generation. In fact, I just feel that they will be totally disinterested in what the Conservatives represent. This is why, coupled with the large degree of disatisfaction with Boris, that I do not see an attempt to break up the Conservative party as being problematic or undemocratic. In fact, the behaviour of the Conservatives under Boris could easily be argued as a threat to democracy.
I also think that we are going to start seeing different kinds of politicians and especially women like Ahern in NZ and Sturgeon in Scotland being more of the norm. Many ofthe Westminster politicians look hopelessly out of date across all the spectrums at the moment. At some point the establishment is going to have to recognise that the old models of MPs have past the sale by date.

I’m not certain identity issues is something that enough people care about outside of Twitter. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the country as a whole more people that you think don’t want to go along with it
People hate being lectured to. And that is what a lot of the progressive and identity movements are doing. And example is the attempt to exactly transport the US style BLM over to the U.K. with no tailoring for our country’s very different demographics and relationship with race to the US
You come intriguingly close to imply that politicians will be better simply because they are women. You pick out some examples of effective actors. But for every Ardern and Sturgeon there is a May, Patel, Dorries, Truss etc

Again we could applaud the increase in minority politicians. But then look at basically any of the minorities in the current cabinet and see that this doesn’t stop them being just as venal and corrupt as those who are “out of date” (I assume a euphemism for middle-aged/old white male)
So I’d just be cautious on the identity stuff

My version of “neutering” the media, is something I have put on here before.
In a nutshell, when, for example, the Mail prints something that is untrue, (which is probably everyday in all honesty), if a complaint is upheld the written apology should match the original lie in size of print, column inches and duration.
So a front page lie, with follow up falsehoods covering pages 3, 4 & 5, with further columns over the next 3 days embellishing the original lie, would require an apology in the same format covering the front page and pages 3, 4 & 5, instead of the apology being a 2 inch column buried in the arse end of the paper, amongst advertising or trivia.
The full apology should run for the same number of days as the lie was mentioned or referred to, to ensure the maximum number of their readers saw it and understood that they were being lied to.

Greg, the first post was tongue in cheek because people on here know I don't like Corbyn, it's my duty to say something. I know he's not going to be arrested more's the pity.
I used "historical" because there is plenty of stuff to research on the net already. God knows what he's been up to recently though. I've posted many examples in the past so please don't ask for a source or proof, I already have.
People like to turn a blind eye when it comes to Corbyn because backing a terrorist sympathiser can be a bit awkward so best to deny he ever was. And the excuse that he was paving the way to the peace process is complete BS.
Also the reference to The Sun and The Daily Mail has been used on here before to undermine or end a discussion when they are struggling with a credible argument. From what I've seen of your previous posts you are more than capable than to resort to the old "Daily Mail" tactic.
