And the same kindness to have just murdered three policemen. Yep, lovely nation, the French.

You may be correct or close to the truth about who we may be run by, but I cant accept we are a ****ty little country.
Living in the Netherlands we have a wide international group of friends and acquaintances in business, healthcare, security, policing (Europol), politics and economy which, all but one or two who want their Guilders back, (their wooden shoes stop the woodpeckers attacking their heads) see the UK as a country that had a respected place in formulating policy and law in the EU, including the necessary reforms, to one of a bit player, a law maker becoming a law taker. The view being it's not the country that's ****ty but the last decade of government in particular Johnson and his bunch of sycophantic incompetents.

Rumours are that a deal may be imminent.
The price of Sterling is rising so I guess the hedge funders will be cashing in, as predicted.
Possibly still a chance of a hiccup to drop the price again to give them a chance to buy it back again before the deal is ratified, pushing Sterling back up so they can sell it again.
If only they had someone in the know who could tip them off :emoticon-0105-wink:.
Would possibly constitute insider trading, but hey rules don’t seem to count these days.

It'll get overridden, but if you want to feel better about the state of affairs in the UK, just know that Donald Trump just effectively tried to defund the American military by vetoing the National Defense Authorization Act because he's mad that Twitter puts disclaimers on his bad tweets.

As usual my hopes of a weak pound against the dollar get dashed 6 days before I get paid in dollars......

In Dollars, it's been hovering around the 1.31 mark for a while. I think it is 1.35-1.36 now. Those 5c make a huge difference if you are paid in Dollars :(

Back in May it was 1.25. About a 8% pay cut since then.

This is good news for Southampton. 1000 new social houses/homes by 2025, with the first ready to move into next year. The country is crying out for the social housing stock to be replenished, following so many having been sold off, below market prices, in what started out as a deliberate attempt to buy working class votes.
Might help to bring some stability to the rental market, as in help control extortionate rents for inadequate housing.
