The guy from Southampton who got arrested last week during the "protests" has been given a one year sentence for assaulting a police officer.

I don't know how the courts are moving so quickly. Long may it continue.

11 year old girl and 34 year old woman stabbed in Leicester Square.

Police say it’s “not terror related”.

WTF is going on in this country man.

I think we are in the midst of a mental health disaster, to be honest. The Nottingham attacker was a schizophrenic whose doctor warned he would kill. But we have no money in mental health and so they wait for people to do wrong and then lock them up. It is a mess.

There was also the chap that picked up a knuckle duster from work on his way to Cumberland Place.

Clearly just a peaceful gent with legitimate concerns.

    It’s absolutely shocking.

I think lack of mental health is possibly a cause. I’d say that a completely pathetic justice system is a much larger cause.

In almost all of these cases of high profile knife and machete attacks (which are basically daily now) there is almost always some sort of criminal history.

We’ve become so normalised to this stuff now that it’s absolutely crazy. Leicester Square FFS.

We need to start deporting foreign criminals and locking up British criminals instead of being so soft and weak.

Unfortunately this new government are more interested in arresting people for tweets than violent crimes. So I predict things will get a lot worse.

Mate, you say you want people locked up for violence and the government acts fast and locks people up for violence... but it is the wrong people?

Yeah, they are locking up people for violent disorder literally every day. The clue is in the word there!

I am concerned that every time Os posts, the first group he wants dealt with is always foreigners. If this had been a series of muslim riots (not foreigners by the way) then I suspect he would be very happy with these punishments, but because they are mostly white people he isn't.

By the way, a fair few counter protestors have now also been sent to prison over this.

Yep. All violence should be condemned. Apart from when it happens on a football pitch because that is just funny. :)

I'm sure you'll agree the new government deserves a pat on the back for swiftly taking steps to make space for the fast tracked violent rioters to start their sentences.
    Telegraph 16 July 2024
"Ministers will fast track removal of offenders from other countries who make up around 12 per cent of jail population.
Fast-track removals of foreign criminals are expected to be pledged in the King’s Speech on Wednesday as part of efforts to tackle the prison overcrowding crisis."
    HoC Library 2 Aug 2024
"In 2023, just under 4,000 foreign offenders were removed from the UK. This was the highest number in four years, but removals remain lower than pre-pandemic levels. From 2010 to 2019, removals averaged 5,500 per year."

Calais is a bit of a dump but calling it a horrific situation we can't imagine seems a tad harsh.
