As I've said before, knife crime is not exclusive to black youths and every stat available demonstrates that. Any part of the world where you have huge levels of deprivation, unemployment and cuts to services will lead to youngsters going down the garden path of drugs and petty crime.

I'll take your word for it.

 

Basically, White Dads do more running around, taking kids to sports etc, whilst Black Dads help more with the homework.

That's based on a couple of thousand kids in the US about a decade ago.

In proportion to the percentage of population that they make up it's very high, you can butter it up with the usual cuts to services, high depravity etc etc but it's not exclusive that you go down the path of crime and drugs and don't preach that it is solely that....it won't wash

it's not exclusively down to that. Individual choice does play a factor but life circumstances definitely play a part.

 

Again if you are black you are far more likely to live in deprived crime-ridden areas. You won't have black people living in Cotswolds or anywhere along the M40.

 

Stop making excuses, that’s why we have this problem in the first place

 

work hard and get a good career and you can live anywhere you want regardless...and some of the areas you say are crime ridden there's also a factor in that, leopards don't change spots simple

 

I'm not making excuses but if we don't look at the cause and factors behind crime then how can we expect to properly address it?

 

Does not matter where you live, a life of crime is a personal choice.

 

You and I can see this, with time comes wisdom and life experience. But this isn't the case for a 12-18 year old and by the time they mature and grow up often it's too late because they have criminal records and a virtually unemployable.

 

There are many theories behind crime and this is one of them.

Happy to agree to disagree. Enjoyed the discussion anyway, I think it's needed. Far too often in today's cancel culture there is an unwillingness to have logical debate but regardless of our different political views and background this does feel like a safe space to actually debate serious issues.
