Scotland know we're a joke. What makes England worth laughing at is the deep-seated belief that eventually they'll "come good" because they won a tainted World Cup on their own doorstep half a century ago.
Scotland are, of course ****e. But all this 'England expects' and talk of 'golden generations' is just ****ing nonsense. I posted a comment some time back listing all the countries who'd won a major trophy since England won the world cup in '66. This included the likes of Denmark, Greece and Czechoslovakia. England are pish. The first time they come up against a half decent team in the World Cup/Euros they get pumped out yet they go into the next competition blindly accepting they have a good chance of winning it despite all the evidence to the contrary. Of course that just makes it all the more amusing when they get humped and sent home
